Gadget Show Live Roundup
April 25, 2009
First of all, I have to say that I think it’s great that Channel 5 TV programme, The Gadget Show has such a following and large number of viewers that a Gadget Show Live event like this was firstly planned and then very quickly sold out by the fans of the show – I think that says a lot about a large of people in the UK being quite tech-savvy and enjoying all types of gadgets that are out there.
This was first event that I’d attended of it’s type on behalf of Zath and was quite excited to see what was on show to the visitors of this event after seeing so many great shows on TV that take place in America, Japan etc.

April 6, 2009
During this past week on the 1st April, LG held another of their events similar to the previous LG Secret launch event and LG Renoir launch event, but these are no April Fools jokes! – These events give some of us bloggers the opportunity to get some hands-on time and experience of the their latest mobile phone handset which we’ve previously covered with our LG Arena (KM900) preview.
The new LG Arena compares favourably and builds upon the success of the LG Renoir (KC910) which was launched late last year – an interesting difference is that the LG Renoir has an 8 mega-pixel camera while the LG Arena only has a 5 mega-pixel camera – clearly LG are making some differentiation between handsets here. Presumably, the Renoir would be a better choice for someone wanting to take top quality photo and video capturing, while perhaps the Arena would be better as a general “multimedia consumption” mobile phone handset.

April 5, 2009
Anyone these days can claim their own slice of internet territory, and be the authority figure of that virtual piece of land. No doubt many people reading this are either webmasters, admins, forum moderators, bloggers in their respective niches. Being a good authority figure on the web requires many talents, particularly when it comes to networking with partners, communicating with readerships and developing a community.
The grounds of this is obviously language, yet unaware to most, online communication is by nature destructive and problematic – destined to cause confusion. It’s embedded in the linguistic construction of online communicating and worth talking about if we are to become better authority figures within our community.

December 7, 2008
Well I think it’s fair to say that the festive season has well and truly arrived here at Zath HQ – hopefully you’ll have noticed that we’ve got our LED Christmas tree and decorations put up in our logo at the top of the page.
Watch out in the coming weeks for special Christmas Zath competition coming your way – more news on that as soon as I get things finalised!
What added to the Christmas atmosphere even more was that last Thursday was the first time in years that they’d been enough snow to prevent us getting to work to our day-jobs – so I used the ’snow day’ to get a few things done round the house and also got some work here on the website.

November 12, 2008
Google have now added further features to it’s Google Mail web browser based service, it essentially combines the voice chat functionality from Google Talk as well as adding video chat into the mix.
I’ve been using Google Mail (GMail) for a few years now, one of the handy things that you could do was have a live text chat / instant message session with other Google Mail users that you were friends with from within the browser without the need for a separate instant messaging client.

I thought I’d give a little update as to how I’ve been using Twitter and what I currently think to it given my initial Twitter scepticism for the service when I first started blogging over 18 months ago – how times have changed, how those archives can come back to haunt you!
If you’ve been following Zath on Twitter for the past few weeks you’ll already know that I tend to go through days of several Twitter updates to some where I may only reply to other people’s Twitter – essentially using it as a chat or IM service. Either way, I’m finding that the Twitter community is a great one to be a part of and have found people answering questions that I’ve Twittered even though we may not have chatted before.
