ZombieBooth is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch by MotionPortrait, that allows you to take photos of yourself or others from your phone and turn them into bloody, gruesome zombie animations.
When you load up the app, you can choose from two choices: “New” or “Open”. Selecting new allows you to choose an image from the camera roll or photo library of your iPhone, or you can open existing zombies. When you’ve loaded an image of your choice, it will be uploaded and then loaded on to your device. You are then presented with a living, biting, blood filled zombie on your screen, it’s that simple.
Not only is the zombie fully animated with striking “realism”, but it also responds to your touch on the screen of your device. The face will move to follow the movement of your finger, but don’t get too close or you may lose a finger or two! When your finger is within touching distance of the zombie’s mouth, it will start to bite ferociously as you see blood spatter on the screen around your finger.
I found the results to be more impressive when uploading an animated image to be zombie-fied than an actual photograph, although when using an actual photo, it is converted with great realism as it keeps all of your features intact. Don’t believe me? Just check out zombie-John below!
ZombieBooth is a great, fun iPhone application and well worth the 59p it costs on the app store. If you want to turn yourself (or your ex?) in to a zombie, then go ahead and download it, it’ll be the best 59p you ever spent!
