If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t want to spend half a day preparing the perfect shot, and you’d rather just get a camera out of your pocket and snap a picture in a second, then you may be interested in Sony’s new Bloggie line-up, announced at CES earlier today.
All three models – the Bloggie, Bloggie Duo and Bloggie 3D – are capable of capturing 1080p high definition videos, as well as having a 5MP point and shoot camera mode.
The Bloggie, or MHS-FS1, is designed to be ultra-compact and lightweight so you can take it wherever you go without being weighed down all day. It comes with a large 2.7-inch wide LCD screen and is available in both black and white.
All of the content that you capture will be stored on the 4GB of internal memory in the Bloggie, so you won’t be running out of space too soon if you stick to still images. If you’re recording a lot of 1080p however, you may want to be a little more cautious with storage.
The Bloggie Duo is also part of the Bloggie HD mobile camera line-up, and as indicated by the name features two LCD displays as opposed to just the one. You’ll find a 2.7-inch display on the back of the camera, and another 2-inch display on the front, so that you can take pictures and videos of yourself without guessing where on the picture you may be. The Bloggie Duo is available in two colours: violet and white.
Like the Bloggie, the Bloggie Duo comes with 4GB of internal memory to store your content. Again, this will be ample for still shots, but if you tend to take a lot of videos then you will want to keep an eye on how much storage you have left every now and then.
Both the Bloggie and Bloggie Duo will be available to purchase in March, so if you fancy some 1080p video recording on the road, make sure your wallets are at the ready!
Sony is big on the whole 3D shebang this year at CES, so naturally, no line-up of cameras would be complete without a 3D offering. Sony claims that the Bloggie 3D is the world’s first HD 3D pocket camera, and it comes packed with two lenses, two image sensors, a stereo microphone and a built-in LED light for photo capture.
The great thing about this model is that you can view back the 3D recorded video without any glasses on the camera’s 2.4-inch display. Of course, you can also watch the footage back on any 3D TV as well, and Sony is quick to point out that there a number of 3D capable BRAVIA TVs on the market if that’s the way you roll.
The Bloggie 3D comes with 8GB of internal memory – twice that of the Bloggie and Bloggie Duo – and will be available to purchase in April 2011. It will be interesting to see how much space 3D content takes up when compared to the 2D content of the other models; you may need more of that 8GB than you think!
