Insomniac Games has announced a brand new Ratchet and Clank game at Gamescom 2010 which will be titled “Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One” and released on the PS3. As exciting as this may be to some, the game won’t actually be released until Autumn of 2011, which isn’t that long to wait…..is it?
When I heard a new R&C game was coming out, I did start to worry that it would be the same formula as with previous games (not that I’d really complain if it was), but after reading about All 4 One, those worries were quickly brushed aside. Insomniac have come up with a new and refreshing way to play Ratchet and Clank as this time around you’ll be playing a 4 Player Co-Op game either online or offline.
The four players that will be teaming up together are Ratchet, Clank, Qwark and Dr. Nefarious who was last seen in A Crack In Time which was the last R&C game. The games story will see our usual heroes along with their enemy having to work together for the first time after Dr. Nefarious latest evil plan goes wrong forcing the 4 of them to team up to get themselves out of the tricky situation they now find themselves in.
Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One is the first game in the franchise to allow players to play with each other offline and online. You can of course play the game solo, but should a friend or sibling be sat beside you, or a mate the other side of the world and they fancy joining in, they can with the games Drop in and Out feature.
Each character will also have their own unique skills and of course some more crazy and wacky weapons in your arsenal to use throughout. I expect all the humour from previous titles will be added again which could lead to some classic moments now that Dr. Nefarious is working with the heroes rather than against them and the usual Qwark moments.
I’m a huge fan of these games and can’t wait to get my hands on ‘Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One‘ as it seems like it’ll be a nice change to previous games. Some people may argue it’s just the same thing again, but I for one think it’ll be great fun and should make for an interesting spin on the previous games and should provide some hectic co-op gameplay similar to the likes of New Super Mario Bros on the the Wii.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Ratchet and Clank games and excited about the announcement? Or do you think it’s time our heroes hung up their hover boots? Let us know in the comments below.
