WoW – Wrath of the Lich King Trailer
The World of Warcraft: Wrath of Lich King trailer has now been released (both cinematic and gameplay trailers) and I think it’s looking quite impressive…if you’re WoW fan at least!
I’ve not been taking much notice of the previews for this World of Warcraft expansion pack yet as I’ve been busy trying to level up my single character, a Night Elf Hunter (called Zath on the Khadgar server, look me up and say hello if you’re ever on Khadgar) up to the current maximum level 70. It’s taken me over a year to get to get to maximum level – I certainly haven’t been power levelling!
It was one of my new year’s gaming resolutions which I made at the start of the year and now I’ve finally managed to reach level 70. With the knowledge in mind that I needed that to be ready for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack when it arrives – the current UK release date is set for 13th November 2008.
Wrath of the Lich King is looking like it should be a great addition to WoW which will just extend the gameplay and subscribers further. It will not only increase the maximum level cap to 80, but also feature some of these highlights:
- New Continent to Explore: Northrend
- New Hero Class: Death Knight
- New Quests
- New Profession: Inscription
- New Game Items
- Destructible Buildings
What do you think the WoW: Wrath of the Lich King trailer? Are you impressed by what you’ve seen/heard about the game? Or is it just an excuse to raise the level cap to 80 and ensure you keep paying your subscription?

Yeah they probably could do with an upgrade to the graphics engine, given all those monthly subscriptions they’re getting from about 10 million people you’d think they might they’d want to consider it.
I heard that there’s extra texture and stuff in Lich King, but the engine is fundamentally the same – just as well it’s stylised graphics and not attempting to be photo-realistic otherwise it would be certainly beginning to look dated.
Perhaps they are working on this or perhaps they are saving improved graphics for Blizzard’s next MMO?
