Worms Merchandise Incoming! – T-Shirts, Plush Toys & Books Heading Our Way From Team 17?

We’ve all heard of them and most people will have played at least one Worms game in their lifetimes, but Team 17′s worms are finally going to be hitting the physical world.

The UK based games developer who are well known worldwide for their massive Worms franchise has recently struck a deal with AT New Media to release Worms merchandise to the masses. Items such as plush toys, books, clothing are all now real possibilities and who wouldn’t want one?

T-shirts full of iconic gaming figures are already freely available, so it’s great to see Worms finally becoming part of it with no end to the clever/insulting quotes for your t-shirts. Not to mention the amount of quality toys that could be available to buy. Super Sheep, Concrete Donkey, a life sized Holy Hand Grenade? Maybe your own Worm with a selection of hats and weapons to make your own Worms scene?

Debbie Bestwick of Team 17 was quoted as saying:

“We are very excited at the prospect of working with licensees, manufacturers and promoters. The Worms brand has a vast array of cheeky, funny and cute characteristics, which inspires great merchandise design. It’s something we’ve always been asked to do, and with the success of the Worms brand across social, digital and mobile gaming platforms we have the freedom and flexibility to pursue the opportunity fully.”

I for one think this is a great idea by the Teamsters and will hopefully be sooner than later that we start to see the merchandise hitting the shelves. Worms is currently available on all platforms, and if you don’t own a copy, I highly suggest you do so!
