World’s First Hybrid Solar Powered iPhone 4 Battery Case Charger Launched

Whilst we all enjoy our relatively powerful gadgets, it is becoming increasingly important to stay mindful of the deteriorating state of our beloved environment. Hence why I am favourable to the odd eco-friendly gadget device cropping up every now and again. Here we have another, which tackles not only issues with electricity usage, it also extends the battery life of your iPhone 4, which I dare say is the more attractive of the two benefits.
The Mooncharge Hybrid Solar Battery Case can be charged either via USB or via sunlight, which is then stored in a compartment in the case and dispensed into the phone when it is running low on juice.
All you need to do is shove your iPhone 4 into the case and then charge via USB for the first time, and you can almost double the battery life of the iPhone 4 (much like the Mili iPhone 3G/3GS Battery Case Charger did), according to the official press release from FrostFire, the company behind the product.
“This unique and innovative case will power your iPhone for an extra 315 hours on standby and provide up to 27 hours more music, 10 hours more video and 5 hours more talk time.” says Chris Frost, founder of Frostfire.
The Mooncharge Hybrid Solar Battery Case is also designed in such a way that you don’t need to remove it in order to charge or sync with iTunes, so it would pretty much act as a direct replacement for that iPhone 4 bumper case Apple are giving away.
The best part of the product though is of course the solar charging facility which is similar to the Freeloader Solar Charger in concept for powering your latest hi-tech gadget. Simply put the case in direct sunlight and it will top up some of the power you have drained during the day. A great idea if you’re going to be on the move for a while and can’t stop to think, let alone charge. The case features four LED indicators to let you know when you are getting low on power, too.
So another iPhone case on offer here, but perhaps one that will provide a little more attraction given the real functionality it brings, rather than just uglying up your iPhone.
