World of Warcraft South Park!
I’ve been playing World of Warcraft for around 6 months now, it’s a great game which provides me with a good bit of distraction from work, that being the case, I’m always on the lookout for any related content I can find, particularly when it’s funny!
Just recently I saw the the full South Park episode called ‘Make Love Not Warcraft’ and if you’re a fan of either of these things, you should definitely check it out - there’s lots of great jokes in the show about WoW and online games in general. It’s usually quite difficult to find a full, complete version of this ‘Make Love Not Warcraft’ episode online, but I’ve managed to root out a site which is showing all 22 mins of this World of Warcraft South Park goodness! Enjoy!

If you ever catch Anthony Lilley’s 2007 Huw Weldon Memorial Lecture (sounds boring, it isn’t) then you’ll love it - he talks about Make Love Not Warcraft and how it’s in his view the best video games/TV crossover ever made (before highlighting some previous efforts such as “The Adventure Game” which though advanced for their time probably don’t cut it now). He goes off onto other tangents about interactive & online but the video games segment is fascinating. A pity it’s not on BBC iPlayer (which I suppose is ironic) but if it gets repeated do catch it.
I have heard about this game a lot but the graphics aren’t pretty good!!
I had also heard a lot about this game.Than I played last night. It was great.
This is a fantastic episode. I actually posted it ages ago to try and make a paid post entertaining for my normal regular readers.
I heard there was a Simpsons WOW episode but never actually bothered to look up and see if that was just a silly rumour.
@Chris - I’ll try searching for lecture, I actually quite like listening to lectures….especially when it’s technology and games related, please let me know if you spot it anywhere!
@Ankur - My brother and I thought exactly the same thing about the graphics, until we actually tried downloading the trail and had a go on it - the graphics are not supposed to be “photo-realistic”, so yes it looks a lot different to the likes of Everquest 2 - but once you’ve been playing WoW with that style of graphics, you soon start to love them - there’s lots of great textures and lighting effects in WoW’s graphics engine!
@2 el araba - I really like how you can just play for an hour or so and still make some progress - you don’t need to spend days on end playing it to get somewhere, it’s been very well designed!
@Forest Parks - there is a Simpsons parody of the online RPG game, I posted it here - http://www.zath.co.uk/world-of-warcraft-simpsons/ - unfortunately the video’s been taken down and I can’t find another place with it online, you should try and catch the episode if you can!
It has been so long since the last time I played Warcraft. Maybe it was last year…It was fun, but than I was to busy. I think I’m going to play this new episode.
this was one of the funniest SPs i have ever seen!!
