Windows 7 Beta – First Impressions
Well Windows 7 Beta is released and it’s certainly no Chicago! What were our first impressions of this new operating system? Is it any good?
Well, when installed on a moderately capable PC, Windows 7 Beta is a complete, competent, capable and stable solution to any conceivable computing need.
It is intuitive, easier to use than OSX, installs ALL your hardware on it’s own without restarting, it does away with workgroup networking for the home user forever!
It guides you to free and respected Anti-Virus, is installed and configured in 25 minutes and can be made to function just like it’s predecessors all the way back to Windows 2000 (not that you’d want to).
It makes Media Center not just usable, but excellent and is apparently incapable of displaying the blue screen of death.
If Apple aren’t starting to look over their shoulders, they really should be.
Every reason to buy a Mac just disappeared!
Is this Windows 7 Beta really a Beta? Well, you could have fooled me. Full Windows 7 Beta review is now done!

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve had some uncommon hardware that wasn’t instantly recognized, but the XP or Vista drivers work like a charm! And I absolutely lurve the new taskbar! Can’t wait ’till it gets on the market.

I think Microsoft are really heading in the right direction with this whole release, clearly they have learned from the whole Vista fiasco.
“Under promise and over delivery” and people will be much more receptive and give good marketing for the product for you!

Nothing is more easier to use than OS X.

Well I got Windows 7 installed this afternoon – am very impressed with how quick it all installed (with nothing to do on my part – I had a fully working system within 30mmins) and the fact that after installing a few apps and using it for a few hours, have not been able to break it yet!
I could see myself spending a lot more time using this new OS!
