WiiWare Games Are Here!Written by Ender on May 20, 2008 · Filed under Games, Review
This morning I downloaded my first WiiWare game, ‘Lost Winds’. I’ve been waiting quite a while for Nintendo’s new channel to come out and I’m glad it’s here!
WiiWare is the same as the virtual console, only the games are all brand new and made by smaller games companies, to give them a chance to show what they can do!
There are 6 games available on WiiWare so far:
Lost Winds – 1000 points
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a King – 1500 points
Dr Mario & Germ Buster – 1000 points
Star Soldier R – 800 points
Toki Tori – 900 points
TV Show King – 1000 points
The games are a bit more expensive than the virtual console games, with ‘Lost Winds’ priced at 1000 points (£7) and FFCC:MLASK priced at 1500 points (£10.50).
I’ve only just started playing ‘Lost Winds’, but I’m very impressed so far as it uses the Wii’s controls brilliantly. With your nunchuck you control Toku and the Wii remote you control Enril, a wind spirit. You control Enril by pointing your Wii remote at the screen and drawing lines to help Toku jump further, pick things up or move the elements the way you want (ie moving fire to another point to burn something, or water to help a plant grow).
The scenery is gorgeous and the soundtrack is soothing. To say that there is a limit of 40MB for each WiiWare game, what they have done with the size restriction given, is nothing short of amazing!
Again, the Wii comes up with another surprise! Can’t wait till pay day so I can download another WiiWare game!
