Wii Motion Plus
Nintendo are set to release a new attachment for the Wiimote called ‘Wii Motion Plus’.
The idea behind this is to improve the responsiveness of the Wiimote and make every little movement count and make it a true 1:1 experience.
All you need to do it plug the Motion Plus into the bottom of the Wiimote to give you a more realistic control over what you do on screen.
People thought that is was the games that weren’t making use of the Wiimote properly (ie Red Steel), but it turns out that the remote wasn’t as responsive as it could be, hence the Wii Motion Plus.
It’s set to be released with Wii Sports Resort which features a set of new games and events that make particular use the increased accuracy of the Wii Motion Plus.
There’s been no release date as yet, but keep yours eyes peeled, because this will be one thing you don’t want to miss out on – if you take a look at these videos below you’ll how this can make a difference to playing with your Wii, ultimately Wii Motion Plus means in the future you could even ‘accurately’ wield a lightsaber!
UPDATE: The Wii Motion Plus release date has now been announced, you’ll soon be able to get your own Wii controller upgrade!

I can’t help but think that Nintendo are now trying to sell us the same thing again, I didn’t know until now about the limitations of the original motion sensors – a little sneaky I think – ah well that would explain why we haven’t seen a lightsaber game already!
That said, it’s good to see that Nintendo aren’t just resting on their laurels and are actually continuing to develop the current Wii rather than holding this technology advance back for the Wii’s successor.

“I didn’t know until now about the limitations of the original motion sensors”
lol I know, right?
It was funny – on the episode of Gametrailers TV that had Jeff interviewing Reggie about the motion plus, Reggie said that “With the Wii motion plus, games can now recognize subtle gestures such as slightly turning your wrist”. I couldn’t help but wonder how exactly that’s different than turning your curser on the main menu.
MP has a couple of issues – for one, it’s success depends on developers making games for it, and doing things with them that couldn’t have been done without it. How exactly will they do that? Will they make games that simply require it to play it at all, or will you be able to play using a non-MP control scheme? If it’s the latter, then either non-MPers will be playing a dumbed down version of the game, or people with MP won’t be getting all that much of a difference. Either way doesn’t look too pretty.
Secondly, how are they going to convince people that it’s a necessity? With Wii Sports Resort, I fail to see how any of those games couldn’t have been made with the standard remote. Maybe I’m just ignorant, but keep in mind that I’m what they call a “core gamer” that owns a Wii – and if they haven’t yet convinced me that it’s worthwhile, how will they convince the even more ignorant casual gamer?
Then again, who knows, it might actually be easier for them to court that type of gamer. Regardless, I’m certainly not sold, and I hope they have some aces up their sleeve, or this thing could be a disaster.

I read that Nintendo is now working hard to produce this stuff in affordable price. Hopefully the price won’t be surprising once it is launching. Considering the function I think the production cost is tend to high.

1st ) Sony tried to copied Wii-mote with the Dualshock 3 (previously known as Sixaxis controller) .
2nd ) And Microsoft has 2 type of controllers for 360 (wired and wireless) in order to compete with Sony wireless sisxaxis .
3rd ) As all of u can see…some time in April, rumour begin to spread saying that Microsoft is having “Newton” motion controller ( the so-called ‘coming soon’)in order to compete with Wii-mote.
4th ) On september 21st ,PlayStationLifestyle.net announced yet another rumour, saying that “Sixense”, a wiimote-like controller for the PS3, is coming…with video showing a demo in it.
Basically it’s liddat…..Sony ripped Nintendo,Microsoft ripped Sony ( currently…. since the other 2 version of motion mote weren’t released yet as the fanboys of 360 and Sony claim )
If Sixense(ps3 motion control) and Newton(xbox360 motion control) really does launched… it shud be liddat….SONY AND MICROSOFT RIPPED NINTENDO …

I believe nintendo innovated with the d pad on the nes and they’ve done it again with motion controls. Sega was the first to put out a analog stick for home consoles with the saturn, but it only worked for Nights. don’t forget when ps1 launched it was alot like a snes controller and analog sticks were added later. Whenever new technology is available at a reasonable price to improve gaming controls it is implemented and if it proves to be accepted it is usually used across all platforms, just like dual analog joysticks were standard on the last generation. so every1 steals their ideas from whatever sells as the best controller or the latest innovation.

Many years ago, the Wiimote was hailed as a gimmick, and now Microsoft and Sony are following what Nintendo has done, I find that very very funny. It really does not matter how advanced their tech is now, Nintendo has many years experience and could pull something even better off next time around.
I can not see Microsoft implementing their motion control anytime soon, and Sony’s had so many problems, the guy could not even hit a tennis ball. It also looked very out of place and shacky while he was holding the different objects, that needs to be improved so much.
I never expect too much from Nintendo at E3, unless they are revealing a new console. A lot of the stuff they have, they like to keep hidden for a while, although NSMB.Wii looks amazing. I can see that bringing memories of Super Mario World back
As for MotionPlus, the Wiimote senses basic movements, making the Wii.Sports impossible to make. MotionPlus is more one-to-one with your own hand, making even the slightest movements possible to detect. Put the 2 together and you have a much better gaming experience, look at Red Steel 2, and I am sure Nintendo could pull of something much much better with a new Zelda game.
