Viigo Beta: Project Tango Updated
I’ve spoken about Viigo: Project Tango a few times now, in case you’re not aware of it, it’s a great little application that you can download and install for free onto your Blackberry or Windows Mobile smartphone and provides you with a host of information and media all on the one application platform.
I’ve currently got this running on my HTC Tytn II mobile phone and use it primarily as a mobile phone news reader as I find it a very useful way of checking RSS feeds. However, this clever little application has developed beyond just that kind and now has lots of other features, such as even downloading audio podcasts should I want to listen to something to stop me from getting bored on long train journeys.
The two versions of Viigo: Project Tango, the Blackberry and Windows Mobile operating systems have slightly different development paths that take advantage of the inherent strengths and capabilities of either type of phone.
The latest version of the Blackberry Project Tango (v3.0.439) has just been released and now has the following new features:
• Significant improvements in both memory and performance, especially on Bolds
• New icons for full article, send as email, and send to me at the bottom of each article
• New Emergency Services section under Local Interest including:
o Global Breaking News Alerts
o Earthquake & Storm Watch Monitoring
o FEMA & Homeland Security bulletins
o & other Emergency Feeds.

Since I downloaded the Beta version on my Curve, I have to reboot (remove the battery) frequently. I tried to access ESPN and the hour glass poped up and after I restarted I tried to send this message and after the second line of text the hour glass popped up again. I am going to remove it from my Curve.
