How To Use Xbox 360 Controller On PS3

xcm-cross-battle-xbox-360-controller-ps3Have you ever felt that the PS3 controllers weren’t as good as the Xbox 360’s and always wanted to play Call of Duty using the precise analog sticks of the Xbox 360 controller?

Well now you can!

A company called XCM has announced a new adaptor which will allow the crossover conversion to enable you to use a 360 controller on the PS3. The 360 controllers are renowned for their trigger buttons and I personally think this could enhance certain gameplay controllers, especially FPS games.

The XCM Cross Battle Adapter is a USB device which plugs straight into your PS3 and then all you need to do it pop your 360 controller into the adapter and away you go!! You can also go Old Skool with the adapter as it has the added bonus of………rapid fire! Choose the button of your choice of whip Call of Duty: World at War or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare into your PS3 and set your M1 Grand or Desert Eagle to rapid fire and watch your enemies cower at your knees.

Price at $39.99 may seem a little steep, especially is you have to buy a wired Xbox 360 controller on top. But do you think this is something that you’re going to buy or take advantage of? Or is this just a gimmick that will just end up being confusing with button configuration?

When I had the original XBox, I did prefer the controllers to the PS2 and would prefer to be using the Xbox 360 controller for FPS games on my PS3.

Let us know your views. Are you happy with the PS3 controllers or do you prefer the Xbox 360 controllers?

I honestly prefer the PS3 one.
But then again, I’m not a shooter fan so my point is moot.

I prefer the PS3 controllers…the anologue sticks are aligned for starters…
I think that most people prefer the PS3 pads it’s just the 360 fans who keep going on about how ‘their’ one is better which keeps bringing this argument back up.
I have both consoles (and i use the PS3 much more) but i can stand either controller – i wouldn’t go this far just to feel slightly more comfortable when playing a game (if it was the other way around i.e. PS3 pad on 360)
Also with you needing a wired controller, it makes it even less appealing – you can play nearly 10m away with a wireless one, i don’t want to be sitting right up against my console (slight exaggeration) again.
Just goes to prove the superior power of the PS3 once again (lol don’t get all worked up 360 fanboys…)

“the anologue sticks are aligned for starters”

Think about the history of the playstation controller, they never used to have analog sticks, so your thumbs were top left on the d-pad and on the buttons. Then came the analog sticks as an afterthought – the d-pad was the original placing for your thumb on the controllers, not down in the middle of the controller which forces you to hold it in a strange position.

Mind you the only reason I say this is that I have big hands, the 360 controller just “fits” perfectly into the palm of my hands and everything is in easy reach. I tend to get cramp in my hand if I’m using the ps3 controller for anything longer than an hour or so.
