tp-link-td-w8950nd-adsl-wireless-router-smallTP-Link has announced the TD-W8950ND, a wireless router with features significantly better than its name! The new router has Wireless Lite N technology, meaning that it’s capable of wireless speeds up to 150Mbps. With such speeds, the TD-W8950ND is ideal not only for high speed internet access, but also services such as online gaming and HD video streaming, a must for any media centre enthusiast.

Initial setup is made simple, with the ‘Easy Setup Assistant’, which provides a step by step guide to make sure everything runs smoothly. Not only does it set up your internet connection for you, but it also allows you to configure security on the router without any complicated setup processes such as we had to figure out to get Xbox Live working on the Belkin N+ ADSL wireless router.

Eric Wang, Country Manager of TP-Link UK, described how “This 3-in-1 device combines the functions of a high-speed DSL modem, a 4-Port 10/100Mbps NAT router and a wireless Lite N access point, meaning there’s no need to buy a separate router and wireless access point.”

“The TD-W8950ND is designed to give you a one-stop solution to acquiring and sharing high speed Internet access over a wired or wireless network, and priced at only £23 (excluding VAT), this product is very good value for money. For only a couple of pounds more than our 54Mbps ADSL router, customers can enjoy high performance wireless speed up to 150Mbps, making it ideal for online gaming and HD video streaming.”

With wireless capabilities not far off standard 802.11n, the TP-Link TD-W8950ND makes a great router for those who want 802.11n-lite technology on a budget. At just £23, it looks like a great priced easy to use, entry-level product, definitely one to take a look at if you’re looking at this market.
