Tomb Raider: Lara Croft & The Guardian Of Light Screenshots

tomb-raider-underworld-lara-croftLast week we mentioned that Crystal Dynamics were set to release a brand new downloadable Tomb Raider game titled Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light. At the time, there weren’t any screenshots to show you, but some have just surfaced and upon my first look, it made me wince.

It looks more like a platform puzzle game compared to what we’re used to seeing Lara Croft doing. The camera is very Alien Breed-esque which, for a Lara Croft game, doesn’t bode well in my opinion.

I might be pleasantly surprised by it, but it looks more like a filler game whilst we wait for the next proper instalment of a Tomb Raider title.

Don’t get me wrong, it looks nice for a download title, but it just isn’t Tomb Raider in my eyes.

What do you think? Do you think they’ll cheapen the Tomb Raider game by doing something like this or a new refreshing direction? Let us know below.

When i heard the game was to be two player i was thrilled, as my freinds and i oftern have arguments as to who gets to play the next level. After this though i saw the screen shots of the game and i really dont feel that it looks like tomb raider at all. I hate the birds eye veiw on the game, and that there are rings around the players, that all make the game seem very ameture.
I have been a life long fan of all the games, but this one seems to be taking the micky. Who else feels that the style of the logan has been stolen from “The Golden Compas” film of the Philip Pullman books?
I seriously hope that the game rises above these low expectations, and that the game is only being made availiable on the Playstation Network is not a mistake that they will regret.

Part of the fun of tombraider, at least for the guys, is oogling Lara’s beauty as you play the game. Unless you’re watching this game on a 90″ monitor, tiny little isometric Lara smacks more of a Gameboy game than a good console game. What the heck though I’ll probably still buy it.
