Halo 2 on Xbox and PC Windows Vista - Graphics Comparison
April 30, 2007
I found this interesting article at GameSpot that talks about the impending release of Halo 2 on Windows Vista and includes some examples of the upgraded graphics that you can expect from the PC version.
I mentioned that I was thinking of taking a look at Halo 2 when I was recently commenting on the Halo 3 multiplayer design. I was basically thinking of picking up Halo 2 for Xbox on the cheap and play it on my Xbox 360.
Now when you see the comparison between the Xbox and Windows Vista versions of this game, it does me you wonder whether I should just hold and wait until I’ve upgraded my PC to Vista, which I’m planning to do in the coming months.

April 23, 2007
I’ve played the downloaded demo of Dead or Alive 4 on Xbox 360 and was thoroughly useless (as I usually am in these type of games), you either play it loads and get really good at it, or as I seem to do with all ‘beat-em-up’ games, only play against other people which leads to resorting to a whole load of ‘using the force’.
For me, the fun in this kind of game comes from playing multiplayer with (hopefully) people of the same skill level = a night of complete and utter button mashing frenzy.

April 22, 2007
I’ve been waiting for the Lego Star Wars 2 game to drop to a bargain price since I got my cheap Xbox 360, I’ve played the first game on the PS2 and also the downloaded demo on the 360, but for some reason it’s taken longer than some other, more recent games to drop in price, but now it’s here and can be picked up for just £17.99!
Also, if you order it right now, you can use the voucher code of “SALE5″ when you go to place your order and get a further 5% off your order, which is always welcome!
The great thing about these Lego Star Wars games is that you despite being designed as kid’s games, they are still really fun to play and usually you don’t need a Lego Star Wars walkthrough for it, but I have encountered a few tricky parts to these games.

April 20, 2007
Following up on my previous post about the Spring update to Xbox 360, there is now a video segment that you can view that covers a lot of the main features (apprantly there are hundreds of new things in this update) in detail and shows some real improvements to many areas of the console and your user experience whether it’s playing games, watching video or simply chatting with friends.
The video stretches to nearly 24 minutes long, but is very informative (thankfully in a relaxed manner) and worth sitting through - when the update goes live on 7th May, you’ll be familiar with and be able to use the major features pretty much straight away!

April 18, 2007
I found this Halo 3 multiplayer level design video rather interesting - I’ve not really considered the thought processes and all the small changes that are made along the way which go on with a game like this to ensure the gameplay is as good and as fair as possible before it ever sees the light of day sat on a shelf in your local shop waiting for you to buy it.
Just from that multiplayer video, it certainly looks like it will be a good game which should hopefully live up to the hype and will be one of the 360’s defining games.

April 16, 2007
Another day, another cheap Xbox 360 game at a bargain price, this time round it’s ‘Lost Planet: Extreme Condition’ which was only launched around Christmas time!

April 13, 2007
I’ve just been looking around a few shopping sites and found that ‘Ghost Recon 2′ on the Xbox 360 can now be picked up for just £24.99 - a great price given it was only released a few weeks ago, I’m really liking these swift falling prices on these next-gen games!

April 9, 2007
Well I was only yesterday writing about how you can pick up some cheap, great Xbox games for under £20 and then today I find that you can now pick up ‘Gears of War’ for just £17.99!
I’ve just placed an order for it - from what I’ve read from all the reviews, it’s a great game! It’s one I’ve been waiting to get till it dropped in price before I got it for my cheap Xbox 360, but I never thought it would drop to this price point so soon. So if you’ve been holding out the same as I have, now is the time to buy it!

April 8, 2007
The Xbox 360 ‘dashboard’ interface normally gets updated with new features and fixes every 6 months, the next one is scheduled for 7th May 2007 and is rumoured to include the following:
- Instead of just showing ‘Play Game’ at the bottom of the screeen, it will show which disc you currently have in the drive - the number of times I’ve opened the drive or loaded up a disc just to see what’s in the drive - now that’s progress!
- Windows Live (MSN) Messenger functionality can be added to your Xbox Live account allowing you to communicate with your friends while on your Xbox - although it takes me forever to type out messages with my Xbox controller as it is, so you’d hope voice chat was an option!
- Improved Achievements functionality.
- Xbox Live Marketplace to get it’s own ‘blade’, presumably to make it easier for us to spend our cash on stuff!
- Option to put your Xbox in low power mode for downloading which then shuts down when complete - again another good idea given I often leave it on over night.
Xbox 360 Games for Less!
April 8, 2007
Having been catching up with some overdue Xbox 360 gaming today and finishing my first game in years; ‘King Kong’ (although the game did have a rather odd feeling ending as I’m sure you can guess), I thought I’d have a look around for some more cheap games and some of what I found are listed below. Last week I wrote about buying cheap Xbox 360 games from Asia, this time round these are from UK retailers.
I’m rather surprised how cheap some of these games are, OK some are launch title games such as Ghost Recon 1 (a very good game all the same), but others certainly aren’t and are real bargains such as ‘Oblivion’ and ‘WWE Smackdown Vs Raw’.
