Left 4 Dead 2 Preview

Oh yeah, there are more hordes of zombies coming! ‘Left 4 Dead 2’ has been announced at E3 2009, the sequel to Valve’s hit co-operative multiplayer game of 2008 in which you play your way through several zombie movie style scenarios with up to 3 of your friends to back you up…or to leave you for dead quite literally! As was the case with a so-called friend of mine who legged it to safety on a boat whiles the rest of us got sacrificed in a farmhouse! Not that I’m bitter or anything…in being Left 4 Dead too…honest!

Left 4 Dead? – A first person shooter game that does just that, it leaves you for dead as you to play through a zombie apocalypse movie with your friends as one of four survivors! – Why hasn’t this been done before now?
I’ve liked the Source game engine ever since I first played Half Life 2 and it’s good to see Valve continuing to develop it as they release more games using it such as the episodic updates to Half Life – but I also like that they are creating some very different types of games using it like Portal and now we’ve got another in the form of Left 4 Dead.

I’ve been looking at getting Left 4 Dead since it was released late last year, but haven’t got round to it…until now! Steam are offering 50% off Left 4 Dead on Steam for this weekend only, so if you’ve also been interested in this game, then this weekend is the time to get it…and get your mates to get it too while it’s cheap!
Why should you tell your friends about this game as well? I’ll tell you why, Valve created Left 4 Dead game (using the same Source game engine as their Half Life 2 game) from the ground up with the intention that it would be a 4 player co-operative game in which you and three friends play through several zombie-movie-style post-apocalyptic environments trying to survive a non-stop onslaught of zombies.
