Sony Ericsson Aino – A PS3 Compatible Mobile Phone

October 20, 2009

sony-ericsson-aino-ps3-compatible-mobile-phoneSony Ericsson has just released their first mobile phone that is compatible with Sony’s PS3 and it’s called the Aino.

The phone will connect to the PS3 via Remote Play which will enable users to access and control all the media content they’ve stored up on their PS3’s whilst on the move. This will be done through the Internet or a local network.

The phone will duplicate the buttons of a PS3 controller on its 3 inch TFT touch screen which will let you turn your PS3 on and off, flick through your XMB (Cross Media Bar), jump onto the internet, and access any DRM media which you’ve got saved on the hard drive.

Uncharted 2 Online Multiplayer BETA Review (PS3)

September 22, 2009

uncharted-2-among-thieves-trainEver since playing Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, I’ve been dying to get my hands on a sequel, which is why I added it in my Top 10 Most Wanted Games of 2009, and that time is nearly upon us. But in the meantime I’ve been lucky enough to bag myself a code for the Uncharted 2 online multiplayer closed BETA.

There were only 14,000 codes given out to UK users to test their treasure hunter skills against each other until 12th October 2009 which is when the BETA shuts down.

Upon looking further into the options, I found that I was able to link Uncharted 2 to my twitter account so that it updates your status. You can turn these on or off in the menu, but if you switch them all on, your status will update when you do the following:

Buy a PS3? Has Its Time Come?

May 21, 2009

sony-playstation-3-console-controllerHas the time finally come to buy a (cheap) PS3? Well that’s the question I’m now asking myself after having simply written off the Sony Playstation 3 as a bad job ever since it was released – a good, well equipped device, but one that has some definite flaws, namely the online gaming aspect and perhaps the biggest of which being the substantially higher price in comparison to its competitors.

First of all, I will admit that as much as I like the idea of playing games and being a “gamer” like I was when I was a kid, these days I don’t seem to get that much chance to play games and as such always have a backlog, some of which in currently include Bioshock, Half Life 2: Episode 2, Portal, GTA 4 and Spore. Getting another console, even if it’s a cheap Playstation 3 probably wouldn’t help this situation neither.

PSP Causes Sony–Sony Ericsson Split?

January 20, 2009

sony-psp-game-playingThere have been rumours about a PSP phone for a long time now, and this and a portable Xbox 360 must make up the majority of the hoaxes that the market sees. However people have been fairly sure that Sony were going to release something to do with the PSP and a mobile at some point in the future, but I hate to disappoint you by saying that we are still no nearer to knowing anything useful about it.

However a nice little piece of information has sprung to the attention of rumour followers like me, and this concerns ‘goings on’ between Sony and its’ half brother Sony Ericsson. Since they began in 2001 Sony Ericsson have been constantly licensing brand names from Sony – such as Bravia and CyberShot – but it would appear that the two sides have had a little disagreement over the PSP.
