Project Needlemouse Named Sonic 4: Episode 1
February 5, 2010
The new Sonic has been giving a title, Sonic 4: Episode 1. This is the official name of Project Needlemouse which was the working title of the project for the new rebooted Sonic.
The game is set after the events of Sonic & Knuckles, so it’s not as though they’re forgetting all of the games that went before this one….well, maybe the abominations that were the recent ‘Sonic’ games will be forgotten.
Sonic 4 goes back to the old skool gameplay as a 2D platformer, but this time we can to see it in it’s full 1080p High-Def glory to give it that extra sparkle.

January 19, 2010
Ever since the new Sonic The Hedgehog game was announced in which we were told that he’s going back to his 2D roots, a lot of fans were worried this was just another lie to get people interesting. Another worry was whether or not they would introduce more playable annoying, pointless side kicks or extra characters into the game.
Well it looks as though they really are going back to basics as it’s been announced that Sonic will be running solo in the new instalment and be the only playable character in the game. I do hope this means that there won’t be any other hedgehogs or friends of Sonic throughout and he really does go solo.

December 3, 2009
Now what’s this? The Sega Indoor Fireworks Projector? Well you may have seen my article earlier on about the indoor Star Theatre Planetarium. Well if you did, and you like the idea, then perhaps this could be for you too. It works on a very similar principal of light shining through a set of discs, except this time instead of displaying the night sky, it projects animated fireworks into your living room.
So this Christmas and New Year especially, there’s no more standing in a muddy field, freezing cold and wet through watching fireworks, as you can get one of these nifty little gadgets and sit in front of the warm fire watching a display which is just as interesting.

I didn’t know this, but the Dreamcast is almost 10 years old. I probably didn’t know because I wasn’t a fan of the Dreamcast and neither were a lot of people which is probably why it did so badly and the reason why we haven’t seen a SEGA console since.
But it’s not all bad as it’s been announced that there is to be a new Sonic game released and it’s going back to the glorious 2D side scroller that made Sonic so popular. The graphics will of course be in HD, but I’m not getting too excited just yet.

March 17, 2009
It’s true! The Sega Megadrive is to be re-released!
The same company who brought us the Portable Megadrive are the ones behind this amazing news. The new Megadrive will come with 15 games already pre-loaded onto the console with 2 pads.
To be honest, I’ve not heard of a few of these games and there’s no room for the original Sonic it seems, or other classics like Earthworm Jim (it’s a classic to me).

December 3, 2008
As Christmas is fast approaching, here at Zath we’re trying to find those little extra ‘stocking fillers’ to get your loved ones, kids or even yourselves.
So, whilst out looking for things, I came across this little beauty which was quite exciting to some extent – it’s only a Portable Megadrive!
There are 20 pre-loaded games available on this handheld Sega Megadrive which include:
Sonic & Knuckles, Shinobi III – Return Of The Ninja Master, Alex Kidd (and the Enchanted Castle), Alien Storm, Altered Beast, Arrow Flash, Columns III, Crack Down, Decap Attack, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, E Swat, Ecco, Ecco Jr, Flicky, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Jewel Master, Kid Chameleon, Sonic Spinball, Shadow Dancer.

When I remember back to playing on my Commodore Amiga in the earlier days of my gaming, one of the most memorable games has to be the arcade-style Golden Axe! For me one of the best things about this game was the fact that it had co-operative gameplay which really was quite rare back then and really made this game rather unique and fun to play with your friends.
Just check out the video below which shows the Amiga version and take in the nostalgia of the hack and slash gameplay – not to mention the classic Golden Axe music!

November 26, 2007
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, this is Sega’s latest game for the Nintendo Wii – what can I say about Mario and Sonic appearing together for the first time in a game? I liked it!
I played it at a recent bloggers’ preview event which was similar in style to the Sega Rally Preview Event that I attended a few months ago, however this time round got to visit Nintendo’s “Wii Flat”, which is as the name suggests, a flat in Central London fully kitted out with Nintendo Wii’s!
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Questions?
November 5, 2007
‘Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games‘ is an upcoming Nintendo Wii and DS game developed by Sega, it’s the first time these two historic Sega and Nintendo rivals of Sonic and Mario have been brought together into a single game!
Now Mario has been doing pretty well in with his games on the Gamecube and Wii, so it will be interesting to see how he does with Sonic joining him for the ride in what looks like a party style kind of game. There’s some details on the game at the Sega site for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and also in a preview over at Gamespy.
You may have seen my post not so long ago about the Sega Rally Preview and how I went to play-test it at Sega UK HQ, well I’ve now been invited to a special Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games event being put on by Sega in London this Friday 9th November ahead of the UK launch date of the game on 23rd November.

October 7, 2007
It’s now many year’s since I used to play the (at the time) ground-breaking Virtua Fighter games in the arcades and on the old Sega Saturn, I’ve not played any since then, but now you play it the latest incarnation ‘Virtua Fighter 5′ on your Xbox 360.
I’ve been looking around for the cheapest bargain price for Virtua Fighter 5 and the best I’ve found is from Amazon for £24.99, surely a bargain!
