Microsoft Courier – Digital Journal Tablet Device? (Rumour)
March 15, 2010
A while back we learned about an upcoming new device called the Microsoft Courier. Since then the announcement and impending release of the Apple iPad has somewhat stolen the spotlight, but now the dust has settled, rumours of the Courier have risen once more and from what i can gather so far, the device most certainly has potential.
Of course, nothing is set in stone, but Engadget ran a post featuring pictures and video’s of the potential features and user interface of the courier and claimed news arrived from, and i quote, ‘an extremely trusted source’.
So what’s it all about then? Well my initial impression tells me that you would be mistaken to perceive the device as an iPad competitor. Whilst the dual screens would make it an excellent ebook-reader, it seems it would have difficulty being an adequate portable media player or lightweight gaming option such as the iPad. It is in fact described as a ‘digital journal’, which sums it up quite nicely in my opinion.

March 8, 2010
We could be about to see an announcement from Lucasarts on the re-release of Monkey Island 2. Following on from the success that Lucasarts had from re-releasing the first Monkey Island: Special Edition, why would they not do it for the second? Which was arguably a better game?
Of course if they did re-release the second of Guybrush Threepwood’s adventures, I sure it would get a graphical overhaul as well as audio for the characters in the game.
I’m a big fan of Monkey Island of have them all set on my shelf including the latest Tales of Monkey Island, so to get to play Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge with better visuals sounds like fun to me.

February 23, 2010
Bruce Willis has come out and let the world know that Die Hard 5 looks to be on the table. Whilst doing the press tour for his new film, John McClane himself said:
“I think we’re going to do a Die Hard 5 next year”
Personally I think that they should leave it alone. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Die Hard 4.0, but I think they could end up ruining the franchise. I could be wrong and the fifth outing for John McClane could be the best yet but I’m sure this news will be getting mixed opinions amongst fans. Bruce Willis also said that he wants to take it worldwide instead of staying in the States.

February 2, 2010
With the press announcement of the Apple iPad come and gone, the fallout finally settling down, now there’s rumours beginning to arise of a potential Google ‘Chrome OS Tablet’. The rumours emerge from within Google themselves as they have shown mockups of such a device on a developer site.
With the release of the web-based Google Chrome operating system growing ever imminent, the world has been pondering over what the ideal device for the OS is. Originally, it was seen as the perfect netbook OS. A lightweight, web based OS would be a perfect fit for lower end netbooks which don’t possess the required power to get the best of Windows 7. Obviously netbooks are still in with a shout as Acer are apparently planning to release a Chrome OS netbook later this year.

Just a quick reminder for those Apple fans out there! Apple (and presumably Steve Jobs) are holding a press event tomorrow, 6PM GMT, to show off its ‘latest creation’ to the world. You can get all the news from the event as soon as it’s over, as Zath will be covering the main stories of the day!
Everyone will be hoping that we finally see the much rumoured Apple tablet or slate product that these rumours have been teasing us about for so long, but will you buy one?

January 18, 2010
It’s officially…unofficial. Uncharted 3 is going to be hitting the PS3 perhaps sooner than we thought.
Nolan North who is the voice and the mo-cap actor for Nathan Drake, the star of Uncharted in case you were wondering, has said that he’s back this year working on Uncharted 3. Following on from the impressive Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and the amazing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, why wouldn’t Naughty Dog bring us another Uncharted? It’s immensely entertaining, immensely popular, so it’d be stupid not to make another.

Cast: Bronagh Gallagher, Eddie Marsan, Geraldine James, Hans Matheson, James Fox, Jude Law, Kelly Reilly, Mark Strong, Rachel McAdams, Robert Downey Jr., William Hope
Director: Guy Ritchie
Runtime: 128 minutes
Who’s to say whether Arthur Conan Doyle’s much loved, now revamped, super-sleuth would have been appreciated by the great man himself. What I can say, though, is that after watching Sherlock Holmes you’ll easily feel a funny tingling sensation which you can’t really work out is good or bad. Guy Ritchie was handed several million dollars to toy with – and play with it he did. This production combines a whole heap of tomfoolery, bare-knuckle fighting and CGI that leaves you pondering.
The story is as basic as you can get; there’s a threat against Parliament and Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr) and Dr. Watson (Jude Law) have to put a stop to it. That’s it, I promise you. Going into any more detail than that would somehow be assuring you that the story is actually any good. It isn’t. But, once you see past that, you can actually let the little holes in the plot go over your head just enough to have a grin plastered on your face for the entirety of Holmes’ half-naked rollercoaster ride around Victorian London.

January 3, 2010
A week’s a long time in technology, and it’s one hell of a long time when it comes to Apple rumours… Naturally, since 28th December 2009 when we posed the question of the Apple Tablet appearing in 2010?, more rumours have been making their way across the net and a January 26th release looks very likely, even if we still have no idea what the damn thing will be called! There’s quite a few suggestions going around…iTablet, iSlate, iGuide?
Will The Apple Tablet Arrive In 2010?
December 28, 2009
Of all the rumours we’ve seen in the past decade, the Apple Tablet is without a doubt the most consistently frequent and annoying… When you’ve been hearing about a product since August 2004, (yeah, really) you just want to get your hands on the damn thing! No-one outside of Apple, to our knowledge, has managed to do that, but surely we’d have gathered some solid evidence of the tablet’s existence after 5 and a half years? Here’s what we know so far…well perhaps…
More recently, only 2 months ago actually, we heard that Apple’s tablet will consist of a 10.6” panel, which puts it in between the iPhone and the 13.3” Macbook in terms of size. One thing’s for sure, Apple won’t be wanting this device to be known as the ‘Apple Netbook’ – not if recent price estimates are well founded anyway…

December 3, 2009
It’s now been over a month since the successful release of Windows 7. So what can we expect from Microsoft in their next OS? That is the question! Well at this point we can only assume it’ll be known as Windows 8 for the time being at least, perhaps it’ll maintain the same simplicity and eventually be released as such. Recent reports suggest that work on Windows 8 will properly kick off in July next year, with release being 2012, according to Microsoft Kitchen’s roadmap (see image below).
Most of us will have seen the TV advertising campaign from Microsoft regarding how several different people claim that ‘Windows 7 was my idea’. So we would like to know, if Windows 8 was your idea, what would you include?
