Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box has not long been released over here in good old Blighty, but a fifth title of the franchise has now been announced.
The games are a massive hit over in Japan and have become so over here to since the release of Professor Layton and the Curious Village last year.
The new title will be called Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and have a Japanese release date of autumn 2010 so far. The announcement was made during the launch of the fourth title Professor Layton and the Devil’s Flute.

November 4, 2009
As I’m sure you are aware that some of us at Zath have recently visited the Euogamer Expo’s at both Leeds and London, and this is the first of a few posts having a look at some of the games I got to have a go on at the latter and picking out some of the best ones just in time for Christmas (now less than two months away for those of you not counting!).
So on with the games, and today I’ll be starting with two fairly dissimilar ones in the form of ‘Avatar’ and ‘Professor Layton & Pandora’s Box’ which were played on the PS3 and Nintendo DS respectively!

November 2, 2009
Here at Zath we like to do things properly, so when we thought we’d check out the Eurogamer Expo 2009 not only did a couple of us visit the Leeds gaming show but I headed off down to London to get a fuller picture of what was at the Eurogamer’s gaming show and see some of the things that the others didn’t have time to investigate.
So after a relatively quick train ride next to a man talking to his watch (the downside of putting phones on your wrist), I like my Zath counterparts, entered the Eurogamer Expo 2009 this time housed in the Old Billingsgate just a few hundred meters down the river from Tower Bridge and I have to say I too was impressed!

October 6, 2009
I’m a massive fan of Studio Ghibli films and still find them to be some of the best animated films around. In case you’re unaware, Studio Ghibli are the masters of animation who brought us films such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and the upcoming Ponyo.
Studio Ghibli have teamed up with Level 5 who are the people responsible for Professor Layton games, and are going to be doing an RPG game that is being specifically made for a new high capacity Nintendo DS cart that can store up to 4GB of date which is twice as much as the PSP’s UMD’s, which has a limit of 1.8GB.

August 12, 2009
The summer, traditionally a quiet time for games, so here at Zath, we’ve been looking forward to lots of upcoming games that are in store for us in the coming months, here’s a the list of the 10 games that I’m personally looking forward to playing the most of all in the next few months.
There aren’t any Wii exclusives on my list as there really isn’t anything for me to get really excited over at the minute. There are good games coming out like Red Steel 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wii, but they just don’t excite me as much as the list I’ve produced below.
So, here are the top 10 games I’m most excited about, in no particular order…

November 24, 2008
I didn’t read about Professor Layton and the Curious Village until about 2 weeks before the release date, but I’m really glad I did read about it.
The pictures seemed to make the game look a bit childish and more like a stocking filler when I first glanced at it. Even though I love animation, Disney films and Studio Ghibli films, it didn’t really appeal to me. But after reading about the game, I really wanted to play the game and suddenly the images looked brilliant.
The main storyline sees Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke being called to the village of St Mystere to search for the secret treasure of the late Baron Reinhold that is ‘The Golden Apple’. The tale goes that whoever finds ‘The Golden Apple’ will have earned the right to all of Baron Reinhold’s fortune. The game opens with a nice little clip which explains in more depth the reason why you’re going to be racking your brains to solve over 100 puzzles.
