Bundle Box Offers UK An Early iPad Release Date
March 14, 2010
Transatlantic shopping service Bundle Box have managed to secure a deal which will allow UK customers to get a fully legit Apple iPad before the official UK release date. Not only does it not cost any extra than it would if you waited for the official release, you actually save £30 on the predicted launch price due to the differences in retail price between the UK and USA.
So you may be thinking, well won’t I have to pay import duty? Won’t that make the savings pretty much negligible? Well actually, no. Thanks to a binding ruling by UK customs, there is a guaranteed 0% import cost.
So it all sounds pretty spectacular. Of course, there will be plenty of skeptics which will disregard the idea under the assumption there is a ‘catch’. As far as I can tell it is trustworthy and I can’t see why it wouldn’t be attractive to potential iPad buyers. In addition to the lower costs and early release, delivery is promised within 3 days of the US launch date. The pre-order of the Apple iPad in the US opened on Friday 12th March.

October 19, 2009
Well the final Windows 7 release is now upon us; in fact I received my full retail Windows 7 pre-order copies this morning which I’ll be looking to install as soon as possible, that is once I’ve managed to get some new computer parts ordered to actually build a new computer with. It’s been quite a ride if you’ve been following the tech news of this operating system; it’s had various potential versions (especially for EU customers) and browser options talked about, but thankfully those issues have now all been settled and we have a fairly straight-forward line up of potential versions of Windows 7 to buy.
Windows 7 Student Offer: What It Really Means
October 9, 2009
You may have seen my post on the Windows 7 student offer that Microsoft are offering. In case you missed it, Microsoft are allowing students with a valid college or university e-mail address to purchase either Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional for £30. The offer came in to affect on September 30th at 4pm, and I’ve since had time to check out what’s on offer for myself.
After providing Microsoft with your student e-mail address, a link is sent to your e-mail account directing you to a link at Digital River (.com) where you’re presented with a web page allowing you to choose either the Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional version (sorry, no Ultimate edition for £30 I’m afraid..) in 32 or 64 bit.

You may have seen our article on the special price offer for pre-ordering Windows 7, at the time I jumped at the chance to get myself a discounted price, and bagged a copy from Amazon for £45. Great, right? Well, I thought so at the time; I can’t remember Windows ever being so cheap, even if this is the year of cheap operating systems… (£23 for Snow Leopard!) That is, until I came across yet another offer for Windows 7.
How Much For Championship Manager 2010? Just Pay What You Want!
August 19, 2009
The Championship Manager football-based series have been going for a while now (in fact since 1993 with the original Championship Manager) but since the Eidos/Sports Interactive split before Championship Manager 5, many have felt that it has lost some of the spark that it previously had and the new ‘Football Manager’ made quite an impact.
So, in an attempt to re-secure their place at the top of the football-management genre they have come up with a new idea to boost sales, and it is one that copies the strategy used by Radiohead a few years back: letting you pay what you like for the game.

November 8, 2008
The Football Manager 2009 demo has now been released!

October 27, 2008
The Football Manager Live launch dates have been put back a little from the original projected dates at the end of October!
This is because of issues that have been found during the latest round of beta testing, specifically the recent Stress Test – Sports Interactive invited a bunch of players to test out the game on one gameworld a few weeks back to simulate what a live gameworld (server) would be like put under heavy (more than expected) load of players in the game.
After missing out on the beta during the last year or so, I was very pleased to be invited to have a chance at participating in this Football Manager Live stress test. It basically involved starting out as a new manager and playing the game as you would normally, I somehow stumbled around the game and found my way around and liked what I found so far in this Football Manager Live preview of things to come.

The Football Manager Live pre-order has now gone live…so to speak. You can now pre-order and reserve your space on one of the Football Manager Live servers to ensure that you will be able to play once the game is released out of beta.
Sports Interactive have announced some more information as to how the game will be played. The surprising point for me is that you won’t have to actually pay for the game itself upfront in a box like you would with other online games.
Yes you pay a monthly subscription like other massively multiplayer online games such as World of Warcraft, but in this case you don’t need to pay for the initial game, just download the client off the website once you receive your code and you can play.
