Daniusoft Media Converter Ultimate Review

January 22, 2010

Daniusoft Media Converter Ultimate is a program designed to do a host of things with your media files, from ripping and burning DVD’s to removing the DRM off iTunes downloads. You’ll definitely have a tough time finding more features in another media suite, but how does it hold up against other programs of its nature?

The feature of this media converter that intrigued me the most when I first saw it was the DRM removal tool. This especially piqued my interest as I download a lot of content from the iTunes store, including HDTV shows and podcasts. To me, being able to convert high definition content is a must in any such program, so I was naturally skeptical when adding my files to the conversion list.

iTunes 9 Review

January 4, 2010

It isn’t that long ago that iTunes was simply Apple’s audio player. Somewhere to stash and organise your MP3 files and sync them with your iPod. That was pretty much it. Nowadays however, it manages your video files organising movies and tv shows, as well as podcasts, apps for your iPod/iPhone. You get the picture. The name iTunes really doesn’t do it justice anymore.

Many of you may have updated to iTunes 9 already, in fact you probably will have done after being prompted by the software update at the time of release. But in case you haven’t, or in case you’ve missed something, this is what’s new in iTunes number 9.

Diggnation – Lost in Translation?

January 28, 2009

diggnation-logoDiggnation is a weekly video podcast / Internet TV show that has been running for over 3 years now, which I only started watching back in early 2008. The show itself is basically two guys sat on sofa (or even a couch) discussing the latest popular websites and Internet news that’s covered on the social bookmarking/voting website of Digg.com.

The two American guys that present it Kevin Rose (founder of Digg.com, sometimes presenter of Digg Dialogg) and Alex Albrecht (also presenter of Totally Rad Show and Project Lore podcasts) normally discuss their popular ‘Digg’ items, general tech news and emails from viewers of the show in a way that I feel is quite universal. And as such they have fans and viewers of the show all over the world and regularly have ‘live events’ (where the show is filmed in front of a live audience) in different countries.

So this makes for quite an entertaining 45mins of viewing on a weekly basis if like me you like hearing about what’s happening on the Internet from two fairly entertaining guys sat on a sofa drinking alcohol or sometimes even herbal teas!

Lost Season 4

April 24, 2008

lost-logoHave you watched the first 8 episodes of Lost season 4 so far? Have you missed some? Do you not have access to watch Lost season 4 on your TV? I’ve just found a great way for you to catch up, by watching Lost season 4 online!

You can now also buy the Lost Season 4 DVD boxset here.

The 4th season of ABC’s Lost TV show was originally planned to be shown in it’s 16 episode entirety in one uninterrupted 16 week run, however due to the recent writer’s strike in America, this meant that only 8 episodes got finished before the strike started. This meant that us eager viewers and fans of Lost had to wait until the producers of the show could actually catch up with making the rest of the series (reduced to 14 episodes this year, but seasons 5 and 6 will be 17 episodes in length to compensate for that).

I don’t know about you, but I thought the 5 week break in which we’ve been Lost-free had been quite a long one, especially given that in true Lost style we started getting some answers, only to have lots more questions be thrown at us at the same time! It will be great to watch Lost again.
