play a racing game
Mario Kart DS
July 6, 2008
Fans of the Mario Kart franchise will not be let down. This is a pixel perfect copy of Mario Kart 64 with some added goodies. The nostalgia of Mario Kart snaking came flooding back when I played this game - it made me want to dig out my N64 and have a blast on Goldeneye.
If you have played any of the Mario Kart games before you will know the score; oversized cartoon characters racing around in strangely undersized vehicles shooting turtle shells at each other and using “magic” mushrooms to boost you about. People who have not played Mario Kart before do not be afraid. It is easy to pick up and play and will keep you busy for hours.

June 23, 2008
Zath: Here’s another great syndicated gaming article on behalf of Game People, this time it’s from their latest writer, Jon Starkey, who as you can perhaps tell from the title, is a gamer who likes to play a racing game particularly using the Logitech G25 racing wheel and a GameRacer Seat. I believe this is the set-up that I played with when I went to Sega HQ to preview Sega Rally last August - so I can vouch for how great it was to use as well - I just wish I had these to play with at home! I hope you enjoy reading Jon’s perspective on gaming here and in the future - feel free to leave a comment on what you think.
Every petrol-head dreams of that perfect setup. Real cockpit, quality wheel and gear shift twinned with a console and game that can deliver the experience to match the hardware.

May 7, 2008
It’s been 3 years since Mario Kart came out on the DS and 5 years since Mario Kart: Double Dash was released.
It’s been worth the wait for the next instalment.
I was pondering whether to get the game or not, because I thought “what more can they do?” - the answer…….it’s Mario Kart! Who cares what’s new! So I bought it and it was money well spent.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, this is Sega’s latest game for the Nintendo Wii - what can I say about Mario and Sonic appearing together for the first time in a game? I liked it!
I played it at a recent bloggers’ preview event which was similar in style to the Sega Rally Preview Event that I attended a few months ago, however this time round got to visit Nintendo’s “Wii Flat”, which is as the name suggests, a flat in Central London fully kitted out with Nintendo Wii’s!
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Questions?
November 5, 2007
‘Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games‘ is an upcoming Nintendo Wii and DS game developed by Sega, it’s the first time these two historic Sega and Nintendo rivals of Sonic and Mario have been brought together into a single game!
Now Mario has been doing pretty well in with his games on the Gamecube and Wii, so it will be interesting to see how he does with Sonic joining him for the ride in what looks like a party style kind of game. There’s some details on the game at the Sega site for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and also in a preview over at Gamespy.
You may have seen my post not so long ago about the Sega Rally Preview and how I went to play-test it at Sega UK HQ, well I’ve now been invited to a special Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games event being put on by Sega in London this Friday 9th November ahead of the UK launch date of the game on 23rd November.

September 19, 2007
The demo of the new Sega Rally game has been released on Xbox Live Marketplace in the form of a 691MB download. The demo includes the following features to choose from:
- 2 Tracks - one Tropical and one Canyon
- 2 Cars - Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
I’ve already downloaded it and had another go on it - you might remember I attended a Sega Preview Session of Sega Rally last month. It compares very well to the game I played and the main noticeable difference from the test version I played would be the AI level of the other cars - we couldn’t get anywhere near the top two cars in our preview session! Whereas I won on both courses on my second attempt (on my first attempts I was obviously getting used to driving with my controller
), presumably there will be a variety of difficulty options available in the full game.
Sega Rally 2007 - Gaming Bloggers’ Preview Event
August 13, 2007
Sega Rally originated as an arcade game back in 1995 that became known for its graphics, handling and close racing. After its success it then made its way to various home platforms in the years that followed and I remember many hours were spent playing the PC version at the time.
It basically defined the rally genre where many games then followed, however in the last 5 years, it’s been quite a lean time for Sega Rally fans, so when I was invited down to London to a special Sega Rally 2007 Preview Session for bloggers, I could hardly turn down that kind of opportunity and here’s what I learnt from the session.
