3D Batman Arkham Asylum Announced (PS3/Xbox 360)
March 5, 2010
It was a huge success on it’s release, so it’s no surprise to hear the we’re getting a Game of the Year edition of Batman Arkham Asylum. But that’s not all. The Game of the Year edition will come with the option to play in 3D on regular TV’s, so no 3D-ready TV is required.
Whilst the GOTY edition will be released on PS3, 360 and PC, it will be only the consoles that will benefit from this feature.
The game will use TriOviz 3D, which “…is a patented 3D process which adds depth to the game…” Of course we’ll have to wear 3D specs to play the game and you’ll get a set included with a copy of the game, but I’m hoping that I can use the 3D specs I have from my times watching 3D films at the cinema as they’d be better than some cardboard ones thrown in with the game.

January 29, 2010
Just in case you hadn’t noticed, 3D has been on the rise over the last year, and the success of James Cameron’s Avatar movie has really catapulted the technology into the limelight not only just for films but for games as well and that’s where the Asus G51J-3D comes in – it is the first laptop that comes ready packed with the popular Nvidia 3D Vision technology.
Now Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology is nothing especially new (in fact I was lucky enough to have a play with it at the Eurogamer Expo in October 2009) but this is the first time it has been offered in a laptop, mostly due to the string of requirements needed to get it up and running.
The problem mostly comes in the form of the monitor, but the 120Hz display and compatible GPU that the G51J offers, combined with the necessary Infra-red emitter and the included set of Nvidia’s 3D glasses means that you will be able to play in glorious 3D on the move.

January 9, 2010
Sony announced at CES 2010 that 3D gaming is coming to the Playstation 3. This wasn’t a massive surprise as they had already shown 3D content at last year’s E3 and mentioned it was coming at CES 2009. But from the sounds of things, Sony are really going to be pumping money into 3D development which is really going to make gaming and film watching (via Blu-ray 3D) in your living room very exciting.
Sony have already said that they are going to be releasing 3D-Ready Bravia televisions and are in partnership with IMAX to develop 3D channels which could make things rather interesting. At CES, there were 3 demo’s available for people to test out which were Avatar, Super Stardust HD and Gran Turismo, and they seemed to have been well received.

November 8, 2009
So as you know, we here on Zath have recently attended the Eurogamer Expo’s in Leeds and London and we’ve played a few games that were there on show and I thought I’d share with you a few of the games that we managed to get our hands on this year.
Uncharted 2 (PS3)
First up is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. After playing the first Uncharted I was expecting this to be just as good if not better and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I had played on the Uncharted 2 multiplayer BETA version before the expo, but the demos on show were the single player versions and it was brilliant.
Eurogamer Expo 2009 Review (London Gaming Show)
November 2, 2009
Here at Zath we like to do things properly, so when we thought we’d check out the Eurogamer Expo 2009 not only did a couple of us visit the Leeds gaming show but I headed off down to London to get a fuller picture of what was at the Eurogamer’s gaming show and see some of the things that the others didn’t have time to investigate.
So after a relatively quick train ride next to a man talking to his watch (the downside of putting phones on your wrist), I like my Zath counterparts, entered the Eurogamer Expo 2009 this time housed in the Old Billingsgate just a few hundred meters down the river from Tower Bridge and I have to say I too was impressed!

October 30, 2009
Eurogamer Expo 2009 (Leeds) was our first venture out into the world of gaming shows and we were both quite impressed with what was on offer, so here’s a quick review about what we saw.
There were a few games that I was dying to play and some that I was mightily surprised with once I had some hands on time with them. Upon our arrival we were shocked to see the size of the queue that surrounded the building. Luckily we managed to take advantage of our press passes and jump straight through without having to wait for hours to get in.
