Night Vision Goggles – See & Play In The Dark!

December 9, 2009

night-vision-gogglesYou may have played video games such as Call of Duty or Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, where the Night Vision Goggles play a massive role in defeating the bad guys. Clearly, they are used in real war as well, but most of us stay well away from all that danger and prefer the safer option of dancing around the garden with plastic Kalashnikov’s that make a funny clicking sound when you pull the trigger.

Well you get the idea…

Now you can make the experience a far more authentic one, the Night Vision Goggles can give you vision of up to 15 metres in almost pitch darkness.

Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 Review (PS3)

November 25, 2009

call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-coverI was desperate to buy Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2, but I thought I was going to have to wait until Christmas to be able to afford it. But thankfully, the supermarkets decided to slash the price and I bagged myself a copy for £26 and it was worth every penny.

The game follows on from the first Modern Warfare and once again, terrorists are causing problems and need a slap on the wrist and a good telling off. Last time we played as Soap McTavish, but this time around, you’re a different character and Soap leads you through the missions along with the every present Captain Price.

I was a little disappointed with the length of the main storyline as I would love it if it was a real epic 15 hours long. This is my favourite storyline of the franchise so far and certain parts have had people making major complaints about, ie the airport terminal which is why Russia banned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

COD 6: Modern Warfare 2 Gets Banned In Russia!

November 17, 2009

call-of-duty-6-modern-warfare-2-coverCall of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 – arguably the biggest game to be released this year was finally unveiled to the public and ignoring the complaints regarding the multiplayer set-up it has received almost universal critical acclaim, except for one level: “No Russian”.

The level (which I will run through in a minute for those who haven’t played it/heard about it) has already raised significant amounts of controversy – to the point where it has come up in parliament – but nowhere as much as Russia who have decided to ban the game and are currently recalling all the copies with the mission on from stores across the country.

Microsoft Bans ‘Chipped Xbox 360 Pirates’ From Xbox Live

November 14, 2009

xbox-live-logo-green-orangeAs millions of people across the globe eagerly got started on probably the biggest game this year; COD6: Modern Warfare 2, some for in for a nasty surprise as they discovered that they were on the raw end of Microsoft’s plan to help curb the increasing amount of piracy: they had been banned from Xbox Live, permanently.

The crime? Installing new chips that allows them to run unofficial or illegal programmes and games, and easily pirate games and download them for free. According to Microsoft this modifying of the console with the express interest to play games illegally is an infringement of the terms of use of Xbox Live and have therefore banned them from the service.

A spokesman for the company said: “All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs violates the Xbox Live terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox Live”.
