Film 2 SD Photo Negative Scanner (USB)

December 10, 2009

film-2-sd-photo-negative-scanner-usbThe Film 2 SD Negative Scanner is an excellent and extremely useful gadget that allows you to take all those old negatives you have lying around, and scan them onto a removable memory card that you find in most modern cameras without the need for a computer.

Once you have fed the strip of negatives into your scanner, you can preview the picture on a small screen on the front of the machine. Therefore you can choose the ones you want to scan onto the memory card and discard the ones you don’t.

SanDisk Sansa Fuze Review

August 9, 2008

sandisk-sansa-fuze-242The Sansa Fuze is the latest MP3 player from the memory giants – SanDisk. The first thing that you notice about this device is the glossy finish to the front of the MP3 player and the back of the Sansa Fuze has a grippy, rubberised back which makes it feel secure in your hand and provides a nice design contrast to the front.

The Fuze features an iPod-like wheel interface, however the wheel is rubber and actually spins – I’ve found this to be a great method of controlling the Sansa Fuze, it allows for precise control and the sense of real feedback in operation. It feels remarkably good in use – in fact, I prefer this to the touch control on my iPod Classic as I’m always finding myself moving one option too far in the menus on the iPod.

It has a 2GB capacity which isn’t bad for a device that is priced around the £50 price mark – however the real defining good point of this device is that you can then expand this capacity by using a cheap Micro SD memory card in the slot on the side of the device. A nifty little feature from a company who are one of the most well known memory card manufacturers!

Cheap Micro SD Memory Card (8GB)

July 25, 2008

sandisk-micro-sd-8gb-memory-cardHow cheap are memory cards going to get?

Around 18 months ago I bought a 2GB Micro SD card for my Orange E650 mobile phone which cost me just over £20 at the time, I’ve now come to buy a memory card for my new HTC Tytn II mobile phone and found that I could get an 8GB Micro SD card for just £17.99.

This kind of storage on a mobile phone is huge! Think of all the photos and videos you could take/record, you could pretty much capture and document your life! Or you could take a lot of entertainment with you wherever you might go, think of all the MP3s or movies/tv shows in Divx format you could fit on a device with 8GB – that’s as much as many MP3 players including some iPods!
