LG Viewty Themes
November 17, 2008
It’s almost a year since I first reviewed the LG Viewty, however I still get asked quite a bit about customising it, specifically in terms of getting new LG Viewty themes, some of which look like the iPhone interface.
The LG Viewty was a great mobile phone when it appeared late last year and it still is good compared to many newer handsets that have been released since, however perhaps you’ve got a little bored with the 3 interface themes that come with the phone, could you do with a change of theme on your LG Viewty?
If that’s the case, then you might be interested to read what I managed to find after doing a little research on this topic, here’s what I found…

October 3, 2008
The latest range of LG Plasma TV were recently unveiled at an LG Plasma TV bloggers’ event at Fulham FC’s Craven Cottage football ground (LG are their sponsor).
There were three new models on show at the event and these were as follows:
- LG 32PG6000 (720p) - this is the world’s first production 32? Plasma, normally plasmas are much larger, this would be great if you have a smallish room to fill.
- LG 50PG6900 (1080p) - this 50″ model features a dual-tuner Freeview+ Plasma with built-in 160GB PVR - very useful indeed!
- LG 50PG70000 (1080p) - this 50″ beast is the top-of-the-line Plasma with features such as Bluetooth connectivity.
When it comes to home cinema displays - you generally need to make a choice between a high definition LCD or plasma TV. I always spend a lot of time researching what is currently considered the best in terms of quality at my set price point to make sure I get the best deal.

September 29, 2008
A few days ago I was invited along to another LG Bloggers’ Event that was held around Covent Garden in London. This time round, the event was for their latest mobile phone called the LG Renoir (KC910).
This is the mobile phone which I wrote about here on Zath a few weeks ago when it was still only known as the LG Renoir KC910 (preview). I’m pleased to see that like I hoped for in my preview post, LG have decided to give its latest creation an actual name to be known as instead of just the LG KC910 – I feel the LG KF600 potentially suffered somewhat marketing-wise from only being known by its model number. I mean the LG Secret sounds much better than just simply the LG KF750.

September 3, 2008
The LG Renoir (KC910) has been unveiled in a preview post over at the LG Blog – this mobile phone will be the successor to the LG Viewty which we reviewed here at Zath when it was launched in the run-up to last Christmas.
The LG Renoir’s (KC910) headline features will be its 8 Megapixel camera, 3” fully touchscreen 240×400 pixel display and three physical function buttons. Here’s a list of some of the specifications that we can expect to see from this new LG cameraphone:

July 30, 2008
I recently wrote about LG’s latest marketing campaign, the LG Style Icon. This campaign is primarily being run in line with the release of their new LG Secret mobile phone handset.
Their roadshow is currently visiting various venues around the UK and I had the opportunity to pay a visit to them while they were at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield.
As a quick re-cap, the LG Style Icon is essentially a competition you can enter to be the next “face of LG”, if you win the regional round then you’ll get to feature on a billboard advertisement in your local area. From there you will then progress to the finals in London where LG will put you up in a plush hotel while you take part in a professional photoshoot – just as a real model would – you get to live the high-life for a weekend courtesy of LG!

June 25, 2008
Here is my latest mobile phone handset review, that of the LG KF600 brought to you by a company that is focusing on producing stylish mobile phones that have well implemented and developed features.
Your first impressions of this product is that from looking at how the box is presented - a folding out cube that has clearly been influenced by Apple’s iPod packaging!
The next thing that strikes you once you pick up the handset is the fact that it has two smaller screens rather than one larger one - there’s the main screen, which is purely for standard display purposes and the other one located below it which is for the touchscreen operation is known as the ‘InteractPad’.

April 28, 2008
A couple of weeks ago LG invited me to participate in some of the launch events they had planned for their latest mobile phone handset; the ‘LG Secret’.
On Thursday 24th April (unfortunately I couldn’t attend this event), LG held a press conference to announce the name and other details of the latest in their range of ‘Black Label’ series of mobile phone handsets - until this event, no-one had been told what this new mobile would even be called.

December 22, 2007
The LG Viewty KU990 is the latest “cameraphone” from LG which is the replacement model for the Prada. The LG Viewty is being badged as a cameraphone, that’s the first important point to realise - it’s not a mobile that claims to be a “jack of all trades”, instead it focuses in on being very good at what it does with both still and video camera features.
I’ve been using the LG Viewty KU990 for over a month now, but the first thing that you’ll notice about the LG Viewty is just how great this mobile phone actually looks and feels in your hand – it sits nicely in the hand, not being too big or heavy, on the back it looks like a traditional camera, while the front of it you’re presented with an outstanding 3” touchscreen with just 3 small and discrete actual buttons.
