LG Plasma TVs
October 3, 2008
The latest range of LG Plasma TV were recently unveiled at an LG Plasma TV bloggers’ event at Fulham FC’s Craven Cottage football ground (LG are their sponsor).
There were three new models on show at the event and these were as follows:
- LG 32PG6000 (720p) - this is the world’s first production 32? Plasma, normally plasmas are much larger, this would be great if you have a smallish room to fill.
- LG 50PG6900 (1080p) - this 50″ model features a dual-tuner Freeview+ Plasma with built-in 160GB PVR - very useful indeed!
- LG 50PG70000 (1080p) - this 50″ beast is the top-of-the-line Plasma with features such as Bluetooth connectivity.
When it comes to home cinema displays - you generally need to make a choice between a high definition LCD or plasma TV. I always spend a lot of time researching what is currently considered the best in terms of quality at my set price point to make sure I get the best deal.

The 32″ Samsung LE32R74BDX Widescreen HD Ready with built-in Freeview tuner was a recent purchase of mine - my first High Definition LCD TV. As you may have guessed from the various Xbox 360 and High Definition TV subjects I’ve been posting (anyone with a new toy likes to talk about it!)

I read quite a lot of review sites and forums before finally choosing this brilliant Samsung LE32R74BDX High Definition LCD TV. I was mainly concerned that with it being LCD, there could be issues with ghosting on fast moving images (which I’ve had problems with in the past on computer monitors) and a possibility of “dead pixels“, thankfully Microsoft seems to have a made a good choice in using Samsung LCDs on their demo stands since this neither of these things were a problem at all, either for gaming on the Xbox 360, TV or DVDs.
