Boxee Box & Remote Control (QWERTY Keyboard)

If you’re a Boxee user, you’re going to love this little accessory that wasn’t given much attention alongside the new Boxee Box at CES! You may have guessed that I’m referring to the newly developed remote that you use with the Boxee set-top box, which not only includes your standard media buttons, but a full QWERTY keyboard on the back!

When using a system such as Boxee, navigation can sometimes be awkward, especially with lots of content. With the QWERTY keyboard built in to the remote, you’ll now be able to quickly search through your media content and find what you’re looking for in seconds, this is definitely something that I’d like to see more of as typing with a numberpad seems to take forever!

Free TV Video Online (Info)

joost-logoJoost is a free TV video online service where you can watch a variety of different TV shows whenever is convenient to you; you’re not tied to TV schedules here.

Since it launched as a public Joost beta around May 2007 it’s been developed and various improvements made to the service along the way. Now what’s probably the most notable of changes that has been made is the fact that you no longer need to download and install a separate application in which to view the Joost TV programming content.

All you need to do now is visit the Joost website and register for an account – or login if you an account from using the Joost application like I did – for the first time in over a year I may add!

Joost – Invites Available to Try Out the Beta Online TV Service

Over the last few weeks there’s been quite a lot of talk on the Internet about Joost, so in case you haven’t heard about it and tried it yet, I thought I’d just cover the basics of it here.

As you can see from the advert below, Joost combines the best of TV and the Internet. It gives you the ability to watch high quality, full-screen TV shows through your internet connection – I was rather impressed with how good the quality of the picture is when played on my HDTV using a HTPC!

There are no TV schedules to live by, simply load up the Joost application and choose what you want to watch when it’s convenient to you!
