Zagg InvisibleShield Voucher / Coupon Code (50% off)

May 28, 2009

zagg-invisibleshield-iphoneWe recently featured an InvisibleShield review here on Zath and basically outlined that it’s a scratch protection system for all your favourite gadgets (not just for us iPhone owners) – to help make sure that they stay shiny and looking new for a long time to come! We even featured an InvisibleShield voucher / coupon code for you to get 50% off you purchase!

But in case you don’t already know, what is InvisibleShield? It originated in the military where it was used to coat and protect helicopter rotor blades to prevent them taking small damage that could ultimately weaken them!

Zagg InvisibleShield Review – Scratch Proof Your Gadgets!

May 23, 2009

zagg-invisibleshield-iphoneEver since I first saw a video of how effective Zagg’s InvisibleShield was demonstrated to some delegates at CES where it looked as though it was unscratchable and unbreakable, I’ve wondered just how good it would hold up in actual use on your favourite hi-tech gadget in making it scratch-proof, well now I’ve had a chance to find out!

InvisibleShield is a urethane plastic coating which once applied to your hi-tech gadgets will make them essentially unscratchable – obviously that’s quite a claim, but given that this product was originally used by the military to protect helicopter rotor blades from being damaged, I thought that it was probably going to be good enough for my humble iPod 80GB, HTC Tytn II and PAYG iPhone.

Windows Mobile iPhone Theme Update

April 4, 2009

windows-mobile-iphone-theme-sliding-animationA little while ago I wrote about the fact that you can get a Windows Mobile iPhone theme for your Microsoft-based smartphone, since then I’ve been running the updated version of this software on my HTC Tytn II and thought I’d let you know how I was finding it to use on a day-to-day basis.

First of all, I should say that the version I got was actually the updated Windows Mobile iPhone theme which meant that it also now has additional features which further improve upon the original version.

3rd Generation iPhone Rumours – QWERTY Keyboard?

March 24, 2009

iphone-3gLast week we reported about the rumour that the next generation iPhone could feature an OLED screen and after that I thought we might not have to wait that long for more news (well rumour) and we haven’t!

Apparently somebody fairly high up at AT&T in America has made the following comments about the upcoming next generation iPhone – I wonder if these will turn out to be true?

What particularly interests me about these snippets of information is whether the new iPhone will actually compete with the high-end productivity devices (such as a Blackberry?), would Apple ever include a slide out QWERTY keyboard on an iPhone?

Free Downloadable Ringtones (Windows Mobile)

October 7, 2008

windows-mobile-logoWhat’s this? Microsoft are giving away free downloadable ringtones for Windows Mobile? Well I recently upgraded the operating system on my HTC Tytn II to Windows Mobile 6.1 and in so doing I ended up registering with Microsoft as a Windows Mobile user which means I’ve been receiving a monthly email with the latest news and applications that’s available for my HTC Tytn II.

As part of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile site, there’s section that contains free downloadable ringtones that you can download and use on your smartphone/mobile phone. There are plenty of different categories to choose from, you can preview and play the ringtone before downloading.

Windows Mobile 6.1 – Orange Tytn II

September 14, 2008

htc-tytn-iiOrange recently released their Windows Mobile 6.1 update for the Orange Tytn II which is available for you to download and install on your mobile phone.

Installing Windows Mobile 6.1 onto my Orange Tytn II was the first time that I’d actually attempted to update the operating system software installed on a mobile phone and as such I was a cautious about it – the last thing I wanted to do was screw up my mobile phone which was working perfectly well.

Windows Mobile 6.1 features the following upgrades and new features for your Windows-based smartphone:

Windows Mobile iPhone Theme

September 4, 2008

windows-mobile-iphone-themeHave you seen the Windows Mobile iPhone themes that are out on the Internet? I have a Windows Mobile phone, however one of the things it lacks is the iPhone theme which is a very intuitive and cool looking user interface that Apple has come up with – it certainly is very different from your regular style of user interface that you get on most mobile phones.

In the year since it first appeared, it’s had a real influence on other how other manufacturers are developing their own interfaces, however I’ve yet to find one that truly rivals it.

Cheap Micro SD Memory Card (8GB)

July 25, 2008

sandisk-micro-sd-8gb-memory-cardHow cheap are memory cards going to get?

Around 18 months ago I bought a 2GB Micro SD card for my Orange E650 mobile phone which cost me just over £20 at the time, I’ve now come to buy a memory card for my new HTC Tytn II mobile phone and found that I could get an 8GB Micro SD card for just £17.99.

This kind of storage on a mobile phone is huge! Think of all the photos and videos you could take/record, you could pretty much capture and document your life! Or you could take a lot of entertainment with you wherever you might go, think of all the MP3s or movies/tv shows in Divx format you could fit on a device with 8GB – that’s as much as many MP3 players including some iPods!

Google Maps for Blackberry / Mobile Phone

June 10, 2008

google-maps-logoI recently installed the latest version of the Google Maps download for a mobile phone / Blackberry onto my new HTC Tytn II Windows Mobile handset and have been further impressed by how well this free piece of software works and how useful it actually can be.

I previously had an Orange E650 (a branded HTC S710 Vox handset) which ran Windows Mobile 6 and as such I installed Google Maps on that, however I must admit that I never really used it due to a combination of slow data speeds (it wasn’t a 3G device) and the fact that the data usage charges on my tariff were quite expensive.
