Wheelman Demo (PS3)
March 18, 2009
From my last post on the Wheelman preview, I was quite excited to get my hands on a version of the game that I could play, so I was pleased to see the demo available on the PSN.
But after playing the demo, I’m less enthused about the final product.
Imagine if you will, Grand Theft Auto mixed with………….Crazy Taxi!!
Now some of you might think, “WOW! That sounds amazing”, but I was left feeling disappointed by a game that promised quite a lot.

March 11, 2009
The GTA series is notorious for being controversially progressive in the way it deals with issues previously deemed too sensitive for the video games medium. Be it shooting cops or encrypted sex mini games, whatever the case may be, renegade developers RockStar North deserve props for generating serious discussion on the inclusion of such adult themes in games, while at the same time inching the boundaries of the medium forward.
With the recent release of The Lost and Damned; a downloadable episode for GTA4, the developers included some brief scenes of full male nudity (yes, people get worked up about this supposedly) and as you might have assumed, controversy has sparked up again.

Wheelman is the new action game from Midway Studios who have worked along side Vin Diesel and his studio Vigon. It’s pretty cool that Vin Diesel is a gaming fan and wants this to be a decent game instead of the usual movie tie-in games as this Wheelman preview shows!
“Vin Diesel stars as Milo Burik, a CIA agent who goes undercover as a Wheelman to infiltrate the gangs and criminal powers of Barcelona, in order to stop a potential nation breaking situation.”
Wheelman is meant to separate from the film, which funnily enough starts Vin Diesel as well. Weird eh! The story is set in Barcelona because of the style of the city and it should make a nice change from GTA games that are all in America.
There are the usual gangsters in this game, with Romanian arms dealers, Spanish Mafia, Chillos biker gang loitering the streets of sun soaked Barcelona.

‘Manhunt 2′ Released Into UK Community
October 8, 2008
Manhunt 2, the sequel to one of the most gruesome games ever made is set to FINALLY hit the UK shores this Halloween!
Manhunt has come under huge pressure because of the graphical content of the game, with people asking questions about whether or not a game with this magnitude of violence is appropriate.
Manhunt is made by Rockstar games, and if you don’t know who they are, what rock have you been hiding under?! Rockstar are the company behind Grand Theft Auto 4, just in case you didn’t know.

Do all games need to be A-List games?
I’m not sure if this question itself implies that we should settle for mediocrity, I interpret this as meaning, should we need and require multi-million pound budget games that take years to develop?

August 11, 2008
Rockstar has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 4 will be released on the PC!
The release date for North America is 18th November, while us Europeans will have to wait an extra 3 days for it to arrive on the 3rd December 2008. I don’t mind, I’ve waited since April to hear this, so a few more days is nothing!
You might remember me mentioning in my post about digital gaming distribution that I actually managed to buy GTA 4 on the Xbox 360 a few days after release – it was quite task to do that even!
However, since buying it, I’ve tried playing it a few times on the Xbox 360, but have all but given up on it, don’t get me wrong, it’s a great looking game and I really *want* to play it, but the control system using a (cheap) wireless Xbox 360 controller just feels far too unnatural for me when I’ve played the last three GTA games with a mouse and keyboard on the PC.

I recently tried and failed to buy Grand Theft Auto 4 in local stores around the day of release – yeah I know I should pre-ordered it a long time ago, but what can I say, every other GTA game I’ve played has been on the PC, so I’ve never experienced places having no stocks, plus I’m used to waiting at least 6 months anyway!

Well the countdown I mentioned in one of my first posts is now over! The trailer for GTA4, the first next-gen Grand Theft Auto game is out and as expected it is looking rather good with one hell of a face lift over the previous generation – the whole trailer is made from in-game footage apparantly!
You can see the high quality trailer by paying a visit to the GTA4 website or a lower quality one below:

The Grand Theft Auto series have been great fun in their previous incarnations and the time is now coming for a new release.
