Eurogamer Expo 2010 Announced (London Games Show)
March 3, 2010
Just like to start off by saying………….balls!
I saw the title of the news and was excited at the fact that the Eurogamer Expo was to be again showing its face in 2010…………………..in London only!! What the hell!!
With Zath HQ being up North in God’s country (that’s Yorkshire to those who don’t know) it was great that we had the option to get to the Eurogamer Expo at the Royal Armouries in Leeds last year!
We did cover the London Eurogamer Expo too, but it annoys me how everything is based in London.

As I’m sure you are aware that some of us at Zath have recently visited the Euogamer Expo’s at both Leeds and London, and this is the second of a few posts having a look at some of the games I got to have a go on at the latter event and picking out some of the best ones just in time for Christmas – in the Eurogamer Expo Games Review: Part 1 we’ve already seen what ‘Avatar’ and ‘Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box’ had to offer and now here’s a couple more of the ‘most wanted’ games out there.
To cheer you up on what has been, for the most part, a fairly drab and wet week as winter descends upon us I thought it would be good to look at two of the games that gave me the biggest surprises at the Expo: “Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time” and “Lost Planet 2”.

So as you know, we here on Zath have recently attended the Eurogamer Expo’s in Leeds and London and we’ve played a few games that were there on show and I thought I’d share with you a few of the games that we managed to get our hands on this year.
Uncharted 2 (PS3)
First up is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. After playing the first Uncharted I was expecting this to be just as good if not better and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I had played on the Uncharted 2 multiplayer BETA version before the expo, but the demos on show were the single player versions and it was brilliant.

As I’m sure you are aware that some of us at Zath have recently visited the Euogamer Expo’s at both Leeds and London, and this is the first of a few posts having a look at some of the games I got to have a go on at the latter and picking out some of the best ones just in time for Christmas (now less than two months away for those of you not counting!).
So on with the games, and today I’ll be starting with two fairly dissimilar ones in the form of ‘Avatar’ and ‘Professor Layton & Pandora’s Box’ which were played on the PS3 and Nintendo DS respectively!

Here at Zath we like to do things properly, so when we thought we’d check out the Eurogamer Expo 2009 not only did a couple of us visit the Leeds gaming show but I headed off down to London to get a fuller picture of what was at the Eurogamer’s gaming show and see some of the things that the others didn’t have time to investigate.
So after a relatively quick train ride next to a man talking to his watch (the downside of putting phones on your wrist), I like my Zath counterparts, entered the Eurogamer Expo 2009 this time housed in the Old Billingsgate just a few hundred meters down the river from Tower Bridge and I have to say I too was impressed!

Eurogamer Expo 2009 (Leeds) was our first venture out into the world of gaming shows and we were both quite impressed with what was on offer, so here’s a quick review about what we saw.
There were a few games that I was dying to play and some that I was mightily surprised with once I had some hands on time with them. Upon our arrival we were shocked to see the size of the queue that surrounded the building. Luckily we managed to take advantage of our press passes and jump straight through without having to wait for hours to get in.

The time is almost upon us. The Eurogamer Expo 2009 kicks off next Tuesday 27th October at The Royal Armouries in Leeds for 2 days before heading down to London on the 30th and 31st October.
Here at Zath, we’ll have our avid gamers at both conventions to hopefully get our hands on some of the best upcoming games, and even some titles that have just been released such as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which is the one I’ll be lining for first as I still don’t have my copy.

Well the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is over for another year, we’d hoped for good things in our E3 2009 Preview, but what can we take away from this year’s event? I think it’s fair to say that E3 2009 was back to its best after the last couple of years of it being scaled back a little too aggressively from what it used to be.
Not only are people excited and talking about E3 2009 in terms of the announcements, previews and demos that were made by the companies that attended the event, but it also seems to once again becoming the gaming industry’s premiere event again which people actually want to attend again – we couldn’t attend E3 this year ourselves personally, but it’s certainly an event that we hope to attend in future years and many other people seem to now have the same opinion. Well done E3, you’re now re-invigorated as an event and your place on the calendar now surely means something to a lot of us once more!

E3 is less than a week away, so us ‘Zath-ians’ thought we’d share the joy that E3 could be bringing to the gaming world this year, seeing as though our invites got lost in the post. They’ll regret it, after we show our faces at this year’s Eurogamer Expo at the Royal Armouries in Leeds this October!
As always with the big gaming expo’s, rumours fly around all over the place with most of them actually turning out to be true, but never official until the day the news is announced. So it comes as no surprise that all the main 3 players (and a possible newcomer) have new ideas or games to show us.

What’s the Play.com Live Show? It’s only an actual games show being held at Wembley Stadium in the UK this weekend that is open to members of the public!
