Football Manager? - I Will Survive!

July 2, 2008

football-manager-2008-logoWhen you make the commitment to take up the job as a Football Manager, it is a very time consuming endeavour as you move all your pieces (players) into and out of place like a hugely complicated game of chess.

It is a (gaming) profession that is fraught with hard work, stress and at some points, huge frustration when things go against you – particularly in the last minute of a football game. If things go well, you won’t be staring the threat of relegation in the face, if you do really well, you may well have to deal with the other problem of just keeping hold of your best players as the bigger clubs circle round you for them.

Gadgets Too Small For You? - You Need Lady Hands!

June 5, 2008

Girls have a definite advantage when it comes to modern technology, be it mobile phones or other gadgets that are continually being miniaturised - girls generally have smaller hands than us guys! Some girls hands are so small, they can even be referred to as “baby hands”!

I’ve been told in the past that I have sausage fingers! Big chunky hands are not conducive to operating the ever shrinking gadgets and technology that we love - us boys particularly like our tech toys! But nature is working against us in our mighty pursuit of the compact gadget!

There’s two billionaire super heroes going head to head at the cinemas this year, the first of was Iron Man (reviewed by Ender) which was released at the start of May, then in a few weeks time Batman will be back with his ‘Dark Knight’ film - obviously they are different styles of movie, Iron Man being more fun whereas Batman is much darker - but each can be enjoyed for what they are.

Ricky Gervais Podcasts

April 7, 2008

Ricky Gervais ShowThe Ricky Gervais Podcasts are very funny! Just like nearly everything he does, not much else to say…but I’ll try!

Ricky Gervais (who started off on the XFM radio station) is one of those comedians that you either love or hate from my experience of talking to various people - personally I think he’s great and have enjoyed watching him ever since he first started appearing on TV.

Creme Egg Suicide Videos

March 6, 2008

Cadburys Creme EggGoo Tomorrow is a series of new promotional videos that show a Creme Egg who wants to commit suicide by a variety of different ways!

If you were a Creme Egg with a death-wish, which way would you choose to go? For me there is something quite satisfying in watching the Newton’s Cradle or Bin ones. Or would you prefer a slower, longer, more drawn out process - being eaten by a hungry human!

Half Life Radio Phone-In

February 26, 2008

Half Life 2 - Gordon FreemanOne of the great things about Half Life has always been the way in which you often get to see the story from different points of view, especially with the expansion packs for the original game.

Well with that in mind, take a look at this video of Gordon Freeman calling into a radio call-in show before the incident that happened at Black Mesa in the original Half Life - you’ve got watch out for these kind of signs, it never bodes well!

Tower of Terror

February 10, 2008

Disney Tower of Terror RideI’ve been thinking about visiting Disneyland Paris, one of the rides there is called ‘The Twilight Zone: The Tower of Terror’ which is based upon the TV show; The Twilight Zone and takes it’s theme from the fictional Hollywood Tower Hotel.

The ride itself transports passengers into a simulation of a phantom lift that shoots up the liftshaft and then plummets back down – this kind of sounds like one of the rides in Blackpool, but only done a lot better.

Zeroes - The Series!

November 30, 2007

Zeroes was something that I’d previously posted about as parody trailers of the brilliant TV show that is Heroes and you can check them out: Heroes or Zeroes? and Heroes or Zeroes? The search continues with open auditions!.

Given that there may only be 11 episodes in the second season of Heroes due to the writer’s strike, these new Zeroes mini episode-like parodies of the Heroes’ chapters are definitely worth checking out! Enjoy!

Zeroes - Episode 1

Do You Remember The 80’s?

October 10, 2007

I’m sure you’ve all seen the usual emails that go round saying what you might remember if you grew up in the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s. However, this is the first time I’ve seen this kind of video put together that basically asks, ‘do you remember these things if you grew up in the 80’s or early 90’s?’.
