Wii Motion Plus Release Date
May 5, 2009
Well it seems like a long time ago since Nintendo first announced their Wii Motion Plus system as an improvement to their already successful motion-based control system for the Nintendo Wii console – and indeed it has been a long time, it’s nearly a year since E3 2008 at which it was first announced, but we’ve finally got word of the Wii Motion Plus release date.
I don’t personally have a Wii, but have played on them in the past and have been quite impressed by what they are capable of, however until I saw the videos over on our original coverage of the Wii Motion Plus system, I wasn’t aware of the limitations of the Wii motion sensors – mainly that it was only able to differentiate large sweeping movements, but then most games to date had been designed with this constraint in mind, so you may not have noticed it that much.

I thought this game was going to be fun and it might even challenge Wii Sports, but sadly, it doesn’t even come close.
There are 6 games to play in Big Beach Sports, which include Volleyball, Disc Golf, Cricket, Boules, Football, and American Football.
The controls are very simple and basic. For most of the games, all you need to do is swing the Wii Remote and then let your characters take over automatically to do the main functions. There are a couple of controls for the games where you can throw things differently by pressing A or B and then swinging. This is good for the younger audience as they’ll be able to get straight into the games and not find it confusing. I think that the older gamers might find it a little too simple, and not much of a challenge.

It’s been 3 years since Mario Kart came out on the DS and 5 years since Mario Kart: Double Dash was released.
It’s been worth the wait for the next instalment.
I was pondering whether to get the game or not, because I thought “what more can they do?” – the answer…….it’s Mario Kart! Who cares what’s new! So I bought it and it was money well spent.
