Here at Zath we like all things hi-tech, gadget and gaming-related, however unfortunately we can’t feature everything we like, thankfully there are other technology, gadget and gaming websites out there to keep up to date with the other important developments that are going on.

It’s that time of year again! The new football season is fast approaching and obviously that means that whether you’re a big football fan or whether you just like to go “shopping” for a few Premiership superstars and pit your wits against other readers here on Zath – yes it’s time to register your free fantasy football league team entry for the Zath Premiership 2009/10 and try to beat the reigning champions; Claire Goulding’s “Toques Tykes”.
As you can see from looking at the end of season results for the Zath Premiership 2008/09, we had quite a lot of entries (the most yet in fact), it made for an exciting season right down to the wire and it was also the first season in which we were able to offer some cash prizes to the winners, but we’re going to be better them this year, keep on reading!

Ahead of the forthcoming new Zath Premiership season, I thought it was about time to focus on the results of the 2008/09 season fantasy football competition that we had going on the site.
In the previous 2007/08 season, Andrew Potter’s “Jinxed XI” had lifted the Zath Premiership trophy, however this season they managed to only finish 11th – it’s obviously been a tougher season what with the expanded number of entries this year. Zath Rovers themselves found it somewhat tough going and ended up in 7th place with 1738pts.

It’s been great to see so many people sign up to the challenge of the free fantasy football ‘Zath Premiership‘ so far, even before I’ve announced the prizes on offer – more on this in minute!
I just wanted to let everyone know that there is still time to sign up before the first points scoring week of the Zath Premiership which will actually be Game Week 2 of the overall game. The free fantasy football game itself started last week (Game Week 1), but I held off on starting our league as I wanted to do some further promotion, get a proper logo (hope you like it!), organise some prizes and ensure everyone had got signed up that had shown interest in it so far.

It’s been a while since I posted a new web-based game on the internet, so when I saw this one I thought it was very apt given the new football season is fast approaching.
MATCH magazine has come up with a new football game that coincides with their new season preview edition of their magazine – Match Super League web game. It’s certainly made me aware of them again, I remember buying this magazine on a regular basis as a kid, well having it bought for me of course!
The allows you to create your team including a name and kit colours and then get on with playing the game – this involves taking your chances at volleys, free kicks and penalties. The same goes for your opponents, so you need to try and save in their opposing attacks.
Continue reading »Free Fantasy Football – A Perpetual Gamer?

I recently announced the 7th season of the Zath Premiership – which is my own league that I run in conjunction with a free fantasy football website, based upon the results of the English Premier League. We’re now into the 4th year of the Zath Premiership that has been run through the official Fantasy Premier League website and I’m always pleased with the progress that is made year on year in terms of new features.
For instance, this year in the Zath Premiership there is the standard accumulation of points for players to aim for, but in addition, each week your team will “play” another team from the Zath Premiership, the team with the most points scores 3 points, the losing team score 0 and if it’s a draw, both teams will score 1. This is a great idea I think as it gives a cup like competition that has been present in previous years, but it takes place each week – I for one always got knocked out early on!
Anyway, if you haven’t already got signed up, then make sure you go shopping for players before the action kicks off or you’ll be playing catch-up! It’s almost 3 months since the Zath Premiership 07/08 finished, which means that it’ll soon be time for the 08/09 season of the Zath Premiership to begin!
The Zath Premiership is the fantasy football league that I run here on Zath, based upon the results of the English Premier League. Summer is moving along – I hope you’re all having a good summer by the way (regardless of the weather), but it’s time to start getting back to work! Well I say work, I mean thinking about who you’re going to have in your fantasy football team this season.
There’s now just two weeks to get your team (re)registered to be ready for the opening week and be ready to try and beat the current reigning Zath Premiership champions; ‘The Jinxed XI’ managed by Andrew Potter….or at least be able to gloat when you beat my team; Zath Rovers!

The Zath Premiership recently reached the finishing line after a long, hard season that has run in parallel with and was based upon the English Premier League football season.
In the previous season, Zath Premiership 06/07 was won by my very own team, the mighty Zath Rovers – I even won on merit with no cheating or paying off of goalkeepers or anything else that the tabloids could have made up to take the shine off my title win!

It doesn’t seem that long since the ‘Zath Premiership‘ Fantasy Football league finished and as you can see from last season’s results, it was a close run thing which I eventually won to re-take the title!
It’s now less than a month to the start of the new English Premiership season which this fantasy football league is based upon and as such you can now register and pick your teams for the 2007/08 season to try and wrestle my recently won trophy out of my hands!

The Zath Premiership fantasy football league that has been running for the past nine months in parallel with the English Premier League has now finished with the final games of the season having been played today and the final results can be seen below.
After missing out by quite a margin last year, my team; Zath Rovers has re-taken the title this year! A special mention must go to ‘FTM’, the ‘Supersonics’ and ‘Team Chick’ for making it such a close race all season long!
