Daniusoft Media Converter Ultimate Review
January 22, 2010
Daniusoft Media Converter Ultimate is a program designed to do a host of things with your media files, from ripping and burning DVD’s to removing the DRM off iTunes downloads. You’ll definitely have a tough time finding more features in another media suite, but how does it hold up against other programs of its nature?
The feature of this media converter that intrigued me the most when I first saw it was the DRM removal tool. This especially piqued my interest as I download a lot of content from the iTunes store, including HDTV shows and podcasts. To me, being able to convert high definition content is a must in any such program, so I was naturally skeptical when adding my files to the conversion list.

doubleTwist is brought to you by the same guy who broke the copy protection on DVD’s way back in the 90’s, and allows you to sync your iTunes library, purchased songs included, to a host of mobile devices and MP3 players. After grabbing quite a bit of media attention since its original release for Mac OS X in February 2008, a Windows version has been released and recently updated, and allowing access to the Amazon MP3 music store. Going Straight: A Solution To Internet Piracy? – Part 3

All right then, let’s get this over with. I’ve said a lot of bad things about Apple, but that’s because they deserve it. I’m not out to make enemies here, but as Robin Williams said “if you were right, I would agree with you”. In my opinion, Apple are a horrid, holier-than-thou, “also-ran” green-eyed-monster in the computing world. They know it too, and it’s evident in everything they do.
Although this short-falling doesn’t extend in to their rich-media offerings, the same paranoid, insular philosophy does. Quick to judge, slow to change. It’s amazing they’ve survived, but look at what they’re up against. Music Match Jukebox? What a pile of arse-biscuit that was. Why Sony isn’t king of on-line music and video is still a total mystery to me.

December 10, 2008
We were told that it was a revolutionary new game, one that was totally different to anything before and one that would keep you captivated for hours. Whether it is or not is up for debate (see the review coming soon) but what we can definitely say is that it was popular with around 2 million copies sold. Just in case you haven’t worked out what I am talking about I am of course referring to Spore, the newest game from Will Wright the creator of The Sims.
However news released today shows that despite desperate attempts by EA and government funded organisations piracy is still a massive problems and this year Spore has been a particularly targeted victim. This all follows a study on BitTorrent which is a peer-to-peer sharing protocol allowing people to share files over the internet to lots of people easily and anonymously. Obviously this is a massive opportunity for piracy to work, and work it has with around 1.7 million downloads of Spore recorded this year.
