It’s the end of another week in the online world of hi-tech gadgets and technology blogging and as usual there’s been a lot happening out there, so here’s a quick roundup of some of the stuff that we’ve found particularly interesting this week, let us know what you think to them too!
Linux Training Week on Zath – I’m sure we’ve all heard of Linux, but for me personally it’s not something I’ve ever seriously looked at because I always assumed it wasn’t worth the hassle of installation for something that wasn’t that worthwhile, well clearly I was wrong on that one! As you can see from this useful series of articles about the Ubuntu distribution of Linux – it’s easy to setup Ubuntu, it’s an easy to use the Ubuntu interface and there’s lots of software available for Linux.
Heineken Beer-Serving Robot of the Future – oh yes that’s right, in the future we won’t need to get up from the comfort of the sofa, instead the robots will bring the beer to us! This particular robot makes for a great novelty, but it does make you wonder about the potential of robots in the future.
Buy Walkie Talkie Watches? – admittedly walkie talkies aren’t exactly hi-tech these days or even that wanted by people now we all have modern mobile phones such as the iPhone 3GS and Nexus One, but these particular ones can be strapped on your wrist and would make for great free-to-use communication devices if you like to be out in the great outdoors or perhaps having a multi-car roadtrip given they have a range of up to 5km. I just wish I had some of these back when I was a kid!

Well we’ve only gone and done it again and had our Children’s GPS tracking watch entry voted as Coolest Gadget of the Week for 1st October 2009! Zath truly is a place to come to see some cool hi-tech gadgets!
It’s only a few months since we featured the Amazon Kindle DX here on Zath, which was then submitted as an entry and subsequently won the title of Coolest Gadget of the Week as voted for by the readers of the Coolest Gadgets website.

Night Vision Goggles – Who hasn’t played a stealth computer game or watched them used on TV and movies and not wanted to have some yourself to scout out your surroundings in the dark?
Laser Airzooka – When the Airzooka was first released, it allowed you to shoot people with air! Now you can improve your accuracy given the nearly added laser sight!

Here at Zath we like all things hi-tech, gadget and gaming-related, however unfortunately we can’t feature everything we like, thankfully there are other technology, gadget and gaming websites out there to keep up to date with the other important developments that are going on.

I have the pleasure in announcing that the Amazon Kindle DX (as featured here on Zath recently) has been voted as being the Coolest Gadget of the Week by the readers of the Coolest Gadgets website!
‘Coolest Gadget of the Week‘ is as the name suggests is the voting of the best gadget or piece of technology by the Coolest Gadgets readers – these people obviously know their gadgets, so it’s rather cool to see Zath’s latest submission winning out of the selection of gadgets on show last week! You may remember that I highlighted a gadget competition over at Coolest Gadgets a while back, well Zath is once again one of the nominated Coolest Gadgets of the Week with our recent gadget post about a Mini Catamaran. Not only can you vote for you favourite of the nominated gadgets from a variety of gadget and tech websites, but you can also stand a chance of winning $100 for yourself by voting and then leaving a comment.

In recent months, I’ve discovered Coolest Gadgets as a great source of information for the latest hi-tech gadgets, it was created and is run by Al Carlton who now has several sites including Self Made Minds.
Coolest Gadgets is one of the biggest gadget sites in the UK and is frequently updated with the latest gadget news and information with several new items being published daily.
One of their latest new regular features on the site is a weekly competition to find the Coolest Gadget of the Week as voted by the readers of the Coolest Gadget website.
I submitted the USB VHS Converter post from last week here on Zath! and it got featured as one of the nominations for this week’s Coolest Gadget of the Week!
