New McLaren Automotive MP4-12C Road Car Preview
March 17, 2010
High performance motor car manufacturer McLaren, perhaps most famous for their success in the Formula 1 area, have only twice ventured into the road car market before producing two of the highest performance cars in the world at their respective times of release. Tomorrow however, they are set to launch the MP4-12C that comes under a new brand of motor car named ‘McLaren Automotive’.
It is good to see a proper British car manufacturer still flourishing. Since the fall of manufacturers such as Leyland Cars and more recently the likes of TVR, British motor car manufacturing has not exactly been fruitful in recent years. Although McLaren cars may not be ten a penny, what they have produced in the past has done our nation proud with the quality and performance they offer, whatever the price.

March 15, 2010
A while back we learned about an upcoming new device called the Microsoft Courier. Since then the announcement and impending release of the Apple iPad has somewhat stolen the spotlight, but now the dust has settled, rumours of the Courier have risen once more and from what i can gather so far, the device most certainly has potential.
Of course, nothing is set in stone, but Engadget ran a post featuring pictures and video’s of the potential features and user interface of the courier and claimed news arrived from, and i quote, ‘an extremely trusted source’.
So what’s it all about then? Well my initial impression tells me that you would be mistaken to perceive the device as an iPad competitor. Whilst the dual screens would make it an excellent ebook-reader, it seems it would have difficulty being an adequate portable media player or lightweight gaming option such as the iPad. It is in fact described as a ‘digital journal’, which sums it up quite nicely in my opinion.

March 5, 2010
The world, as you probably know, has in recent years developed somewhat of an obsession with ‘going green’. Renewable energy sources, reducing packaging, but one of the most major breakthroughs in terms of being environmentally friendly must be the development of the hybrid car. A car that can happily switch between a roaring, gas guzzling petrol engine, and a silent (but deadly?) electric one.
Electric concept cars are all the rage now, many have tried their hand in this market, most notably Toyota with the Prius and Tesla with their prestigous Roadster. Now however, there is a new player. Porsche. Well known for their reasonably priced high performance sports cars and a spatter of other vehicles. Certainly, I would never have expected such a manufacturer to unveil not one, but three hybrids. But never fear, they still do the earth shattering speeds you may be used to.

February 25, 2010
Across the world golfers opt to travel around the course in electrical car’s specifically designed to navigate the course fairly quickly without destroying the necessary tranquility and pumping fumes around the course. For some while now, companies have been striving to create similar hi-tech future cars that are fit for the road.
The demand for fully electrical, or hybrid cars has gone through the roof in recent years and as a result, manufacturers have responded with cars such as the Toyota Prius and at the other end of the market, the Tesla Roadster, both of these examples are helping to spur on development of other environmentally friendly cars like the Fiat Eco-Drive.
Well at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, a less well known manufacturer called Garia, have displayed a street-legal electrical golf car so you can combine your leisure activities with your travel arrangements. Nothing could be more convenient for any golfer I’m sure.

February 17, 2010
Occasionally you stumble upon things that just look too weird, futuristic or downright bizarre that you have to look around to double check that it’s not just someone having a joke, and the new ‘eye sensing’ earphones which have been demonstrated by NTT Docomo Inc fit into that category quite well.
The two earphones effectively track the movement of the eye, which is then recorded and used to do whatever it is you had in mind using some pretty nifty technology borrowed from the methods used in the medical fields to achieve the same outcome – measuring the movement of the eye.

November 12, 2009
A release date and price has apparently been unofficially announced for the Xbox 360 motion control system; Project Natal and I have to say I’m quite surprised by them, it will be released at a price of around £50 and has a release date of November 2010 – I personally thought it would be a lot more than this, so if true, this is great news from Microsoft!
When Xbox 360’s Project Natal motion controller system is released there will be 14 games available, but nothing yet on whether any of these will be AAA titles. Lionhead have been working on the Project Natal AI kids known as Milo and Kate so could this be a possible launch title? From what I’ve seen of it, it looks impressive and is one of the many reasons I bought an Xbox 360.

October 17, 2009
Here at Zath, we obviously love using hi-tech gadgets, thinking about future artificial intelligence developments and any other cool implementation of technology, so whenever our cars feature a new gadget or gizmo, we approve! However, just take a look at these 3 great hi-tech cars of today that could well influence future car design to the point where we are all driving around in cars that include a combination of all these car technologies!…
Assisted Parallel Parking – AUDI
The new range of AUDI’s have an optional extra, an automatic parking system. In theory, it sounds pretty simple, but the technology behind manufacturing it is something which I personally, wouldn’t begin to try and explain. Basically, the lower body of the car is surrounded in tiny camera’s, similar to those you see on the rear of some cars used for parking sensors.
‘Milo’ Artificial Intelligence – The End Of Society As We Know It?
July 2, 2009
Until about 5 years ago I generally had a good understanding about modern technology but as you know, 5 years is a long time. I don’t think my mobile phone even had a camera back then and my PC had an impressive 8 gig of memory.
Since graduating from university in 2004 I’d say the closest I’ve come to new technology is having a go on my mates’ PS3 and getting a new phone when I renew my contract every 18 months. All I know about AI is what I’ve learned from the Terminator films and watching the clip of the Project Natal “Milo” demo on Zath.

June 28, 2009
One of the great British summer traditions is getting the family together, squeezing as much stuff as humanly possible in a car and go camping – something that always ends up in bad weather, poor hygiene and a good time had by all. But to be honest it hasn’t really been brought into the electronic age and that is what Orange have been putting their mind to.
This concept all-singing-all-dancing solar tent has been unveiled in conjunction with the opening of Glastonbury (as Orange are one of the many sponsors) and although some of the details may be more from the realms of the ideal than that of reality it could well be the direction in which camping is going.

June 5, 2009
We recently did a post about Microsoft’s new motion control system titled ‘Project Natal’. From what I’ve seen, it looks like it could be great fun to use because of being able to use your entire body rather than just remotes.
After delving a little further for information, I came across Peter Molyneux’s ‘Milo’. An artificial intelligence character that can interact with you through Natal. I have to say, I’m absolutely amazed from what I’ve seen as it’s not even 50% complete yet. But on the other hand, I’m a little freaked out by the potential of this new technology. But…….it’s genius!
