Zath’s Monster World of Warcraft Competition!

As a World of Warcraft player who is eagerly anticipating the upcoming WoW: Cataclysm expansion later in the year, I’ve recently got back into playing WoW by starting a new character and it got me thinking that it might be an idea to run a another competition for my fellow WoW players around the world and obviously anyone else who’d like to enter too!
With this in mind, I thought I’d try and make it worthwhile and rather than just give one prize away and there be just a single winner, I’ve put together a World of Warcraft prize pool (along with the help of SteelSeries and Starbucks) that means there’s 13 actual prizes up for grabs and having reviewed many of these items already, I’m happy that they’re worthy of such a competition!

It’s that time of year again! The new football season is fast approaching and obviously that means that whether you’re a big football fan or whether you just like to go “shopping” for a few Premiership superstars and pit your wits against other readers here on Zath – yes it’s time to register your free fantasy football league team entry for the Zath Premiership 2009/10 and try to beat the reigning champions; Claire Goulding’s “Toques Tykes”.

‘Monster Hunter Freedom Unite’ Competition

We’ve recently featured a preview of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite in which we explained the basic premise and what the game entailed, this is certainly looking like a pretty impressive Sony PSP game both in terms of graphics and gameplay – these Monster Hunter games are huge in Japan and Capcom have now brought them to our shores for us to experience them for ourselves.
As part of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Freedom Unite release in the UK also involves the opening of the Monster Hunter Gathering Halls in Central London, a social gaming centre where Monster Hunters from all over can gather together to receive tutorials/training, content and questing events, all free of charge to anyone who has a Sony PSP and a copy of the game.

You may remember that about six months, we featured the Make Your Own Morph kit which we thought would make the ideal gift for any budding animator or just anyone who remembers the stop-motion early classics that were featured on Tony Hart’s TV art show – I remember watching those Morph animations after school as a kid myself! Great times!
What made this ‘My Own Morph’ kit event better was the fact that it was a usable plasticine model with which you can create your own stop-motion animations and upload them to the official Wallace and Gromit website for everyone else to watch.

Living in HD is a community site for enthusiasts of things to do with digital video, photography and HDTV who are looking for a place where they can learn from others and also share their own knowledge in what is becoming an increasingly popular field as more and more people take up hobbies around digital video, photography and HDTV.
Since the Living in HD community is driven by its users then it means that they will tend to be less biased than similar information found on the manufacturers’ websites, however this site would appear to be a part of or at least sponsored by Panasonic still.
I can see this type of website being very useful to both beginners and more experienced users all round and the whole peer-to-peer knowledge aspect is somewhat like you’d find in a forum. However this community website is presented in a much better way that makes the experience of using it more engaging than a simple forum as people can share the results of their creativity.
