Match! – Super League Football Game

August 8, 2008

It’s been a while since I posted a new web-based game on the internet, so when I saw this one I thought it was very apt given the new football season is fast approaching.

MATCH magazine has come up with a new football game that coincides with their new season preview edition of their magazine – Match Super League web game. It’s certainly made me aware of them again, I remember buying this magazine on a regular basis as a kid, well having it bought for me of course!

The allows you to create your team including a name and kit colours and then get on with playing the game – this involves taking your chances at volleys, free kicks and penalties. The same goes for your opponents, so you need to try and save in their opposing attacks.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider Trailer

June 2, 2008

golden-axe-beast-rider-logoWhen I remember back to playing on my Commodore Amiga in the earlier days of my gaming, one of the most memorable games has to be the arcade-style Golden Axe! For me one of the best things about this game was the fact that it had co-operative gameplay which really was quite rare back then and really made this game rather unique and fun to play with your friends.

Just check out the video below which shows the Amiga version and take in the nostalgia of the hack and slash gameplay – not to mention the classic Golden Axe music!

Ghostbusters 3 Game?

November 17, 2007

Ghostbusters 3 game, a would-be new movie sequel that I personally would love to see as I’ve liked Ghostbusters since I was a kid when I’d watch the movies and the Real Ghostbusters cartoon series. It’s been talked about appearing in one form or another over the years, be it a live action or a CGI movie, however apparently Bill Murray has been less than enthusiastic, whereas Dan Ackroyd has the one who’s really been trying to push for it to happen.

Earlier this year some footage of what was thought to be a Ghostbusters game made by Zootfly was released, however Sony then ordered that all reference to the franchise be removed, presumably because they were already working on a Ghostbusters game title. Now an official game which Dan Ackroyd is involved in (he’s doing motion capture and everything!) has been announced and some footage released, which apparently takes place after the events of the Ghostbusters 2 movie with the team now being more successful with their Ghostbusting business and is essentially Ghostbusters 3!

Commodore Gaming PC

March 24, 2007

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the the forthcoming return of Commodore computers, since then the new Commodore-branded PCs were recently unveiled, so I thought I’d best do a follow-up piece.

The new PCs will certainly look different from the old Commodore computers, with the cases having various optional high quality customisable artwork or ’skins’, however the good old C= logo remains intact on them. Examples of this artwork can be seen at Kotaku.

Commodore Computers Are Back!

March 13, 2007

I remember being rather young when I first got a Commodore 64 with its squealing cassette player that you left loading a game for 15mins or so while you went and did something more interesting.

I then moved onto the Amigas, firstly the A500 (it had a floppy drive and everything!), I remember losing many night’s sleep to Civilization – one of the best games of all time! Later came my more modern-looking (it seemed it at the time at least) A1200 with an internal hard disk – it certainly made playing Secret of Monkey Island 2 with its 12 or so floppy disks a bit easier going!
