New PS3 80GB
July 20, 2008
Sony are set to release a new model of the Playstation 3. Instead of the cheap Playstation 3 40GB model now available, there will now be an 80GB model which will sell at the same price of £299.99.
Apparently the memory card slots and PS2 emulation will not be making a return on this new model, which is a shame. But I would have thought that this model will feature the new Dualshock Sixaxis controller that was released only a few weeks ago.

July 18, 2008
Normally launch titles are the biggest waste of space and end up being a waste of money. The storylines are weak, the graphics are average and they’re just downright crap.
This is completely the opposite for Resistance: Fall of Man!
Resistance is due to be re-released as one of the forthcoming Platinum titles on the PS3 for the normal Platinum bargain price of £20 in stores or you can buy it for just £14.98 online!
Without warning, the Chimera attacked from the east, and in just two months, Europe fell.
And as the Chimera hunted down the remaining survivors, the last resistance fighters rose up from the ruins of Great Britain…
Never underestimate humanity’s will to survive.”

Gadgetshop Summer Sale - Up to 75% Off
July 17, 2008
I’ve just seen that there’s currently a summer sale going on over at Gadgetshop, who was one of pioneers of gadgets shop around 10 years ago - I remember buying lots of “Hi-Tech Gadgets” back around 2000 - I particularly remember getting a Plasma Ball for my desk and missing out on one of the original large size ITV Digital monkehs!

July 14, 2008
I recently wrote about getting cheap car insurance online having bought my last 3 car insurance policies online. I have to say that I’m pretty happy with buying my policy online, but what about car insurance for a woman?
In recent years there seems to have been quite a few specific companies targeting the ‘car insurance for women’ sector of the market, these are usually very apparent given their style of marketing campaign, for example Diamond or Sheila’s Wheels.
I’ve often wondered if these style of adverts and approach to car insurance actually persuade you to buy from them as they are very different from the norm in some cases - some would put me off completely, but then I’m a guy. Are you a woman who has bought her car insurance from one of these companies, do you prefer to organise your car insurance online? Do you respond well the the style of advertising and approach these companies take?

July 11, 2008
My attention now turns to a free 3 sim card in what seems like a never-ending quest to find the best Pay As You Go bargain deal on the various mobile phone networks.
In the past I have never seriously considered the 3 mobile network because I was always under the false impression that you needed to be situated in a city to actually get any signal on the 3 network.
However, I was recently speaking to a friend of mine who has a mobile phone on 3 and he has recommended that I should definitely take a look at getting a free 3 sim card if at all possible, since their network coverage is usually much better than some other networks, specifically in our area the T-Mobile and Vodafone networks are a bit hit and miss - to the point there is no signal at all sometimes.

July 8, 2008
Could anyone here make use of a Play-Asia $5 off discount voucher? The reason I ask is that similarly to my recent post about having a voucher for a free episode of Sam & Max, I now have a free Play-Asia voucher for one lucky reader that needs to be used before July 2008!
Play-Asia sent this voucher because I hadn’t logged into my account for a while - but right now I don’t have the time for any new games, so thought somebody else might find it useful.

July 6, 2008
Around a month ago I found that you could get Football Manager 2008 cheap on the Xbox 360, which was a real bargain at the time for the console version, but now you can get it cheap on the PC too!
Football Manager 2008 still has plenty of life left in it as the 2009 version probably won’t be coming out till at least October time, Football Manager Live still has a tentative release date of summer 2008, but who’s to say whether that will make it out the door in time for us wanna-be football managers to keep busy with over the summer holidays?

July 3, 2008
It took me a while to decide upon getting a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium 4GB USB memory stick after my previous Corsair Voyager died on me after around 3 years of loyal service. This was mainly because there are so many USB memory stick out there to choose from, it took a while research what exactly was worth spending you money on, but I believe I’ve managed to find one!
It’s encased in a very solid-feeling titanium casing which not only seems robust, but also looks rather smart too. I found the rather innovative sliding mechanism of the actual USB interface to be a really good feature because it means you’re not going to (inevitably) lose the cap as with many other standard USB memory sticks. However, I don’t know about you, but give me something like this and I will tend to fidget with it all day - which I often do if it’s sat on my desk and not plugged into the computer!
