Match! – Super League Football Game

It’s been a while since I posted a new web-based game on the internet, so when I saw this one I thought it was very apt given the new football season is fast approaching.

MATCH magazine has come up with a new football game that coincides with their new season preview edition of their magazine – Match Super League web game. It’s certainly made me aware of them again, I remember buying this magazine on a regular basis as a kid, well having it bought for me of course!

The allows you to create your team including a name and kit colours and then get on with playing the game – this involves taking your chances at volleys, free kicks and penalties. The same goes for your opponents, so you need to try and save in their opposing attacks.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider Trailer

golden-axe-beast-rider-logoWhen I remember back to playing on my Commodore Amiga in the earlier days of my gaming, one of the most memorable games has to be the arcade-style Golden Axe! For me one of the best things about this game was the fact that it had co-operative gameplay which really was quite rare back then and really made this game rather unique and fun to play with your friends.

Just check out the video below which shows the Amiga version and take in the nostalgia of the hack and slash gameplay – not to mention the classic Golden Axe music!

Commodore Computers Are Back!

I remember being rather young when I first got a Commodore 64 with its squealing cassette player that you left loading a game for 15mins or so while you went and did something more interesting.

I then moved onto the Amigas, firstly the A500 (it had a floppy drive and everything!), I remember losing many night’s sleep to Civilization – one of the best games of all time! Later came my more modern-looking (it seemed it at the time at least) A1200 with an internal hard disk – it certainly made playing Secret of Monkey Island 2 with its 12 or so floppy disks a bit easier going!
