SteelSeries Siberia V2 Gaming Headset Preview
SteelSeries recently announced that they will soon be releasing their first closed-type headset which will be the upgrade to one of their existing headset range, namely the SteelSeries Siberia V2 gaming headset. The original SteelSeries Siberia headset was a hit with gamers around the world and also achieved some notoriety in the music industry when used by musicians in several high profile music videos.
For this reason alone, I thought that their follow-up headset would be worth looking at, as well as being their first closed-type headset that SteelSeries have released, the Siberia V2 has some other notable features such as great sound quality, integrated control capabilities, an enhanced more comfortable design and better passive noise reduction technology.
One of the best features that I’ve spotted from reading through the specifications is the fact that this headset has an “invisible” microphone, or should I say more accurately a retractable microphone. I know friends (mentioning no names) who have removed their microphones form their headsets when they’ve only wanted to listen to games or music and then they’ve ended up losing their microphone.
We’re big fans of using gaming headsets here at Zath, not only do they make you feel as though you’re in the middle of the action so much better, but when playing online gaming such as World of Warcraft and Call of Duty, being able to co-ordinate with your friends is important and in those hectic moments you don’t have time to be typing messages to each other.
Overall, we’re looking forward to seeing exactly how these SteelSeries Siberia V2 gaming headsets perform in comparison to other headsets currently available, thankfully we won’t have too long to wait as they are released around the world in November 2009.
Key product specifications of the SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-size Headset include:
