Spielberg Presents ‘Halo: The Movie’?
A couple of years ago, Peter Jackson was trying to get a Halo movie up and running, but to no avail. Well fear not, as it looks like it could be back on the cards again!!
This time with Steven Spielberg at the helm!
It’s reported that Spielberg is very impressed with the script titled ‘Halo the Fall of Reach’ which has been written by Stuart Beattie. There’s also been reports that Spielberg is interested in Bioshock, but last I heard, Gore Verbinksi of Pirates fame was directing it.
This all seems a little bit odd, although amazing. Spielberg doesn’t strike me as someone who would be interested in the cash cow that is games to films…errr….films, but with him getting quite heavily involved with EA in bringing the gaming world Boom Blox, it does make me wonder if Spielberg is also a gaming nerd?
Could this be a good thing? Having one of the best directors in the world try his hand at what has so far been a very disappointing area in films. Could Spielberg be the one to set a new landmark as to what gaming films are to achieve to be successful?
Steven Spielberg presents ‘Halo: The Fall of Reach’.
Steven Spielberg presents ‘Bioshock’.
Kind of has a nice ring to it doesn’t it?
What are your thoughts on this? Are you a Spielberg fan or do you think someone like…. *gulp* Paul W Anderson *gulp* should do it? Either way, let us know in the comments below.

Spielberg is good, but for Halo, I guess (I’ve never played it) he’d need to step away from the warm cuddly endings he seems to stamp on all of his films. (Although you could argue with BioShock that’s possible – also possible is alternate film endings…win!)
I think that BioShock would be a great film (probs better than Halo), and even better would be the research for the actors. around 2 weeks playing BioShock non-stop. Win!
