Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe, I sometimes look back on playing the mighty game of Speedball on my Commodore Amiga 500 and think that this was one of the true gaming greats…for me at least!

Everyone has their favourite games that they look back upon and think, ‘wow, that was a good game, now that was a game I was great at playing!’ - there were many others even on the Amiga, but Speedball 2 was one of the major ones for me! I remember playing it against my friends, no-one ever beat me, they gave up playing me in the end - that may well have been the true pinnacle of my gaming success! Well maybe - nostalgia and all that!

“In the year 2326, rival gangs form an ultra-violent streetsports league called Speedball to settle their deadly disputes. Get your steel ball into the opponent’s goal. That’s it, there are no other rules, and anything goes. The sport becomes quite popular, but it is also extremely dangerous. Ten years later, Speedball becomes the national sport with sponsors, professional teams, and insanely brutal action.”

You can now download this game off Xbox Arcade and either play to re-live your memories of Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe or even try it out for the first time, it’s got new online features and updated graphics - this is the first Xbox Live game I’ve been truly waiting for and excited about playing again, so go and check it out, you might even end up playing against me!
