sony-alpha-a33-cameraSony has just announced two updates to its range of Alpha cameras, with the introduction of the A55 and A33. Sony say that the new models are lighter and more compact than your standard DSLR camera, but manage to pack in a whole host of features for customers to be excited about.

Both of the new models come with Sony’s new Translucent Mirror Technology, unlike other conventional DSLR cameras that you see on the market, and also allow for phase detection autofocus when shooting at 10fps on the A55, and 7fps on the A33. Other features include 3D Sweep Panorama, Auto HDR and multi-frame noise reduction.

The A55 model packs a 16.2 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, and is expected to be available for somewhere in the region of £700 to £800, whereas the A33 has a 14.2 megapixel sensor and is expected to be available for between £600 and £700. Both models are set to be released in the UK by mid-September, so if you have your eye on one of these models, you won’t have to wait too long!
