Shrooms Video

Shrooms has the tagline of “Get ready to get wasted”, this could so easily have been used in so many recent horror/slasher movies in one sense or another, especially given the quality of some of them!

In the case of Shrooms, another bunch of American teenagers go camping in the woods, this time in Ireland. They end up finding mushrooms rather than the Blair Witch! They then get attacked by ghostly creatures, are they hallucinating or truly being attacked in the good old ’slasher-movie’ sense? Take a look at the trailer video below and see what you think.

I’ve not seen Shrooms yet, although it’s got a UK release date of 23rd November, so we don’t have to wait too long for it to arrive. However, I don’t tend to go to the cinema much these days other than for the big blockbusters, mainly due to lack of time these days - I mean I’ve not even seen Saw 4 yet, despite seeing the first three at the cinema. I’m finding I usually prefer to wait until I can spend a night in watching these kind of films once they arrive on DVD video.

Are you the kind of person to go and watch the horror/slasher movies at the cinema? Do you think any of these movies stand out from each other these days or do they all blur into one? Of recent years, I rather liked ‘House of Wax’, it was much better than I was expecting it to be, plus it had a nice familiar face from 24 and ‘The Girl Next Door’ in the form of Elisha Cuthbert!
