Rovio – Remote Home Security Robot

Rovio can be the eyes and ears of your house whilst you’re out, whether you don’t trust your housemates, your cleaner or perhaps a babysitter. A Wi-Fi driven remote home security robot loaded with a webcam and camera so you can roam around your house from room to room from the other side of the globe using any device with web access.

The Rovio has a wide range of uses, from spying on your housemate or simply an extremely different way of chatting with anyone in your home whilst you’re away. It has three wheels for ease of travel. I guess it could be difficult to turn over after an unexpected crash and flip.

Other useful features include an LED headlight for control during the night and built in GPS so you can set up checkpoints for routine checks around your home. Even if it gets knocked off course, it returns to the destination and continues its journey.

Also, if you’re away for a lengthy period, there’s a fair chance the Rovio may run out of power. Not to worry, the intelligent Rovio quickly finds its way back to the charging station and parks up till charged and called upon which can be done with a single click from your Laptop or PC.

All in all it is an exceptional remote home tool which is fun and useful. Rovio will set you back £199.99, but all things considered, the technology is amazing and that could be considered a bargain if you have a use for its impressive features. I’m sure there are some tech-heads in your family who would love one of these for Christmas.
