R2D2 USB Hub
I seem to be on a real R2D2 theme in the last week what with the R2D2 projection alarm clock and now this R2D2 USB Hub, perhaps it’s because I’m watching the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon on TV and the last couple of episodes have been about everyone’s favourite little droid!
Functionally this is the same kind of thing as the Transformers All Spark Cube USB Hub I recently wrote about, in that it plugs into one of your USB sockets and then allows you to plug in up to 4 USB devices into it which is especially useful if you’ve run out of USB sockets on your computer and don’t want the hassle of opening your computer to add further sockets.
Simply connect R2D2 to your computer and you’ve got your very own cool looking astro-droid to sit on your desk and keep you company – much better than a plain, square box that most USB hubs traditionally are, he even bleeps and chirps when you plug new devices into him!
This R2D2 USB hub will be a great addition to anyone’s desk (including mine!) and will no doubt catch people’s attention and be a real talking point!
Features and Specifications:
- Official Star Wars R2-D2 4-Port USB Hub
- 4 USB 2.0 ports ports along the base of his chassis
- Chirps, squeals and beeps when you plug a new device into him
- Articulated legs allow R2 to stand up straight, or recline
- Powered by the USB bus, so a power supply isn’t necessary for operation
- Some high-powered USB devices may need extra power, so R2 accepts a 7.5A external power supply (not included)

According to your image and video there must be at least two models. The image you provide shows two ports at the base, the video shows two ports on each side.
